Status: offline 		My mom claims to be a christian, but She's racist and she's two faced. She talks the worst shit about people who're posta be her friends, and she says the most filthiest and fowl things about our neighbor. And I know for a fact if these friends knew the awful things she says to them and how she gossips about them, they'd want nothing to do with her.

Today she came into the garage, where my partner and I are living and told us the place looked like a filthy niggers house. I told her if she ever spoke to me like that again I'd close the door in her face. Sure tell me you'd like it cleaned up but DO NOT use racial slurrs and sterotypes to get your point in.

Hypocracy is easy to spot in others, nowhere near so easy to see in ourselves.  When it's pointed out to us, we tend to justify it, proclaim why it isn't really hypocracy.  I've spent 53 years attempting to root it out of myself.  I have never, and I suspect I shall never, completely succeed.  It is, I think, nearly inimical to the human condition.
 
So, you don't like your mother because she's a back-stabbing racist.  These are indeed, unattractive, albeit quite widespread human qualities.  So, whose garage is it that you and your partner are living in?

Yeah I know I live with them. Don't mean I have to like her hypocrisy. And she'd have a cow if I ever spoke that rudly to her, and since I pay rent and am an adult, She doesn't get to talk nastily to me. I don't care if I do live in the garage, I am of the mindset that it doesn't matter if you do live here, adults talk to other adults* even ones living with them* with respect and curtesy if they expect respect and curtesy.

Plus I don't claim to be christian, I'll admit right up front I talk shit about people I don't like and I am loud mouthed and opinionated and will probably offend many by beeing so lol.

Status: offline 		assuming your mom and dad are married ...it is her house just as much as it is his. But that issue aside, if you are paying rent there you can pay rent elsewhere. My guess is if you relocate the relationship with your parents might improve.

Status: offline 		holly yup their married, but I did say if you want to get technical becuse I believe if you don't pay money into up keep or care of the home, or into the ability of keeping it, it's not yours.

holly we can't afford to move. It's why we're living in their garage.

We're in the garage to save money and to be ontop of our finacial situations before looking again. I don't know if you remember but I posted about 4 or 5 months ago how we were looking and all the places were way to expensive or didn't allow our dogs. We're hoping, that by the time both of us can afford to look again, He'll be making more money, * which would qualify us for more options than an apartment Ideally I'd like to rent a forclosed home or something* and I'll have all of my debt payed off, and can actually contribute more than a paltry amount to our efforts.

And actually if she don't speak to me or come around me our relationship is pretty damned good, lol it's just when she opens her mouth, and don't stop to think how rude or offensive she is.

But wouldn't all relationships be good if they never spoke to one another lol.

Status: offline 		missturbation, Well that is true, but I have less tolerance for people who claim to be and believe in beliefs that should if you follow the faith properly show you how wrong gossiping and back stabbing are.

Course I guess christains could gossip and back stabb, and still claim to be christians there sure wase nough of it in the 7th day adventist church she attended, but I think that if you're truely christian you should be above raceism and backstabbing catty behavior. Because wouldn't god want you to treat your fellow man kindly an be a good person an not be spiteful. * well I assume he would, but I don't really know since I am a devout athiest*

That was my point.  You know, some of the greatest people in history have been some of the greatest hypocrits.  Take Thomas Jefferson, for example.

I also don't claim values that are at odds with my actions. Like claiming christinity then spouting hateful racist things about one race, or being hateful about people I claim are friends.

If they're a friend an you can't stand them so much you're driven to talk shit about them when they have no clue, why are you friends.

However I don't think it's back stabbing to state someone's a racist. To me backstabbing is being all nicey nicey to someone's face then first chance away from them you get, rip them to shreds verbally with someone else or to someone else.

If I don't like someone I'll tell them to their face, not to someone else the moment person's not in earshot.

Christians have been spouting hate as long as there have been Christians.  Hatred of Jews, hatred of Muslims, hatred of athiests, hatred of other brands of Christianity.

Any belief system which emphasizes the superiority of its believers over non-believers ("We're saved; everybody else is damned.") is going to engender hatred.

Status: offline 		Your mom is what my grandpa always called "Sunday Christians." Go to church, claim to be good Christians, wouldnt do or say anything against another human being. As soon as they step out the door of the church, or on Monday, start badmouthing neighbors, spouse, children, anyone.
