Do some research about emotional intelligence and emotional literacy. That will help you identify feelings, then explain them. Also, have you read any books? Check out the ones in my signature. Read them together. Master Fire

The checklist idea was a great idea to start for us as well. And we both were coming from differing levels of experience. What we have came in two versions - one for me and one for Him. We filled it out separate and then exchanged them. It helped me be honest with my what I wanted or was curious about or had as limits. After 7 years we are looking at filling them out all over again to see the changes. I still have the old lists that someone was kind enough to give my Dom then, if you are interested I can e-mail it to you. Message me.
