MsDebbie -> Admirers list (7/7/2008 5:45:29 PM)

Is there a way to remove people from the Admirer's List?  Is there also a way to keep people from adding me without my permission?

No unfortunately.  They are adding you to their private favorites (which is not the same as "friends" which anyone can see).  If you don't want to see their name when you list at your admirers list, you can "hide" their profile and they won't show up (but they'll still be there).

Slightly offtopic Debbie (and Cali), but can you help me - why is it an issue?

I used to use the favourites tickbox to bookmark profiles which interested me so I could later go back and drop a note. But occasionally someone (to whom I'd not yet sent a note) would mail me yelling for me to get off their admirers list. So I stopped (even though to me it was my favourites list!), but could never understand why it was an issue.

OP ~

You can't stop them from adding you, but you can block them from contacting you once they do.  Copy the name of the user then paste it into the search box.  When the profile comes up, click Block User.  That person will no longer appear as an Admirer.

Sunsweetie, I don't understand why it's a problem either.  Many sites do NOT tell you whose list of faves you are on, do NOT tell you when someone has read your email (or whether they deleted it unread), do NOT give you a lot of info that CM does.  I remember the first time I clicked on the "who is viewing me" button, back before it turned red every time there was a new viewer, and I was quite surprised as I realized that people would see that I was peeping at them.

For some people, I guess ignorance is indeed bliss.

PS:  When I first said "no unfortunately", I meant unfortunate for the OP, because it sounded like she wanted that power.  I didn't mean that was my personal opinion, sorry to confuse.

<grins at Cali>

You're on my favourites list kid, which makes me an admirer of yours.  [sm=smile.gif]
