I'm sure many can relate to this. He/she professes their submissive nature, repeat with fond childhood recollections of how when so-and-so age, they wanted to be the character in (insert TV show, cartoon, etc.) and be the tied-up villain or super-hero or poor victim. They'll go on about how they have always wanted to serve and submit, yada-yada-yada, but still they prove more bottoms than anything. Usually this is more true of males than females I find, but it makes you wonder if there really are any true subs, or just very skilled bottoms that know how to please--and if there is any difference at the end? I'm sure this is going to get alot of mixed responses, so should be interesting to see what people think.

Okay I'll take a shot at this and hope I don't get flamed too much....Lets grant that I might not be all the sub I may think I am,can we not allow for the possibility that with the right Domme I can be taken from bottom to sub/slave type I so long to be?Or am I supposed to be a finished product at the start of my journey with the prospective Domme?

I would have to say that, yes, there are true subs. They are people that are just the opposite of control freaks. They're people who have the psychological and emotional NEED to be controlled. I have two of them in my life, one is my pet, and one is my partner (well, one of my partners). My pet, I fulfil that need for him. My partner, I am trying to help him overcome that need. Yes, there are some out there that are just glorified bottoms, but there are also, most certainly, true subs.

Nope sorry, there are no true submissives out there; only fakes, phonies and fly-by-night fucktards, Seriously though, there are no "true" anything because being a "true" or even a "real" whatever means that you perfectly fit every possible definition of the term. Sorry, it just ain't going to happen. Now, i have to wonder how well your 8 years of experience prepared you, since it only took you a month on this site to get jaded. Reminds me of an old joke: A woman is at a rally in support of the troops at some US Military base. Well, I wouldn't flame you. I agree too with what you say. My personal belief is that the most out there are bottoms that just like being dominated and really not interest in being a sub so much as the feeling of being submissive. A sub to me is someone that really is about the other person's needs and reconciles himself with that whereas a bottom is inherently self-centered in that his needs are the motivating factor. Some bottoms are quite adept at taking on the sub persona--and some at even fooling themselves. I personally have nothing against bottoms and no real preference for either. I just ask if there are any real subs there and especially in the numbers that are professed--and if at the end it makes any real difference.
