 got my nipples pierced about a week ago now, no pain in them really, no ewy gunky stuff except for whats normal with any piercing (aka clearish fluid from the piercing "weeping" no sign of infection in the slightest), so I clean them 4 times a day, twice a day with the solution my piercer gave me, and a sea salt soak in the morning and one before bed.

The skin around the entrence point for the rings is peeling slightly and its dry as hell, is it ok to slow down on the cleanings and maybe put some triple antibiotic ointment on them to keep them from peeling and being itchy?

note on ingrediates for the cleaning soultions;

sea salt soak: non iodized pure sea salt and purified warm water

piercing solution: 0..13 % benzalkonium chloride (the active ingredient)

triple antibiotic ointment : bacitracin zinc 500 units,neomycin 3.5mg and polymyxin b sulfate 10,000 units

seems safe enough?

Yes, back off on maintenance. One soak a day, no ointment. Gentle soap in shower and remove crusties carefully. Move jewelry as little as possible. Pure vitamin E on surface skin until dryness is gone.

the dryness is most likely coming from the multiple cleaning. like dave said washing them a couple of times of day in warm water combined with the sea salt soaks will do it. my peircers always recommended an antibacterial soap, such as dial, and never to use anything like the antibiotic cream.

the soap and soaks should be enough to let them heal nicely. it worked great for me 6 times with my nipples.

smooches

Ok forget all the junk, buy a bottle of Clinidine Solution
Twice daily water wash then rinse with clinidine
Then fresh bandage loosely
keep routine till a. no more bleeding, b. pain is gone or very very faint.

My piercing was completely through the head of my cock, one of the hard ones to heal, were talk most of the time over a month. But this method of cleaning and care is highly recommended.
