Brazilian's are the BEST!! The first is a bit more painful than subsequent visits. The closer it is to your time of the month, though, the more painful it'll be. The girl i go to actually has me help hold certain areas - and that helps a lot - the more the skin is stretched, the less it hurts. She also gives me Finipil - which is fabulous! It takes 15 minutes or so to do and the swelling and redness are gone by the next day. i do avoid sex for the first 24 hours though as everything down there is a bit sensitive.

You'll have one and never go back! Make sure to exfoliate in the shower once your skin has softened a little bit to avoid nasty ingrowns.

Oh my gosh! And when I recently replied to the profile of a "Brazilian", I told Her that I had also been born in South America.

Never heard back from Her.

*chuckles off*

Good idea because baby powder is BAD BAD BAD to put on your "neither regions" due to the talc and all the nasty things it can do!

I use to get Brazilians but getting done every 4 to six weeks was becoming expensive so I opped for Lazer hair removal .. and it costs about the same .. and after a year I wont need to worry about that nasty hair anymore

I had a Brazilian once but not much came of it.  She recognized that I wasn't going to marry her, so she shuffled off.

Had a hot little body though.

I'm so glad I saw this thread.  It's something I've wondered about for a long time but it never would have occurred to me to ask about it here.

Three questions:
(1) I'm pretty heavy and have areas (such as between my thigh and my vulva) that are a somewhat tighter spot to get into than they would be for someone of average size.  Does anyone know if that's a problem, or does it just mean that I'll have to get into some unusual positions in order to accomplish the task?
(2) Do the salons that use the little g-string thingy require it (maybe because of some imagined hygienic issue, or for the sake of their own modesty, or something like that) or is it optional?  I couldn't care less about any pretense of modesty, and I really don't want to have to bother with something like that.
(3) Ok, this one is kind of embarrassing, but I'm totally not a girly girl and I don't know about a lot of this stuff.  When you say to exfoliate afterward, what exactly does that mean?  I know what the word means, and I know what the result is, but I don't know how to do it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I thought about it as an alternative to shaving. Then I went and got one. It was not particularly an experience I hope to repeat, I'll stick with my trusty razor. Not particularly into my own personal pain. So that's probably why. If I was a masochist I'd probably adore it.

Ok, in response to heavier girls getting brazillians.... I am bigger and at one time I was a LOT bigger so I went through the same questions before I got one done.

You, have to look at it this way. The person giving the wax has seen a hundred different women of all shapes and sizes and they aren't worried about your size. Good hygeine is more important than anything. Make sure your hair is only about an 1/8 of an inch long otherwise you wont have as good on a result and it will be more painful when they apply the wax. I was getting them about once a once because I am pretty hairy and thats all they lasted. Now, I taught myself how to do it and I wax myself everywhere all the time. It is cheaper and I am very fast with it now.

As for the underwear. Yes, wear a thong or some other kind of very moveable underwear. If they don't ask and you get hair there ask them to do the backside too. Which they will do. You wont have to get into crazy positions. Now more ackward then the gyno.

As for exfoliation..... I exfoliate almost everyday. You can get many different kinds of exfoliator depending on your skin type. There is one at Bath and Body works that is a raw sugar exfoliant. It is about 20 bucks but it last forever.
It is fantastic for mosturizing. (be careful in the shower. it is very slippery!) it is just rough granuels in some kind of mostirzing base. just rub it on the areas you shave or wax or get a lot of dryness. It is amazing what result you get from it.

If you have any other questions ask away.

I thought about one but hair on me grows really  quickly and if I grew back in say two weeks it wouldn't of been worth it for me. I don't even bother with removing hair now, shaving or otherwise, becase after a few times of shaving I don't grow very bushy anyway.

Yeah mine tends to do the same, but I generally tend to shave anyways. I've gotten used to it over the time I've done it, and getting a pubic hair stuck in the back of one's throat tends to be a non-desirable experience, and a total moodkiller. Things still tend to grow the way they do, though I've thought about the whole laser thing. Maybe someday I'll do it.

Thanks very much for your answers, iwantdeepdaddy.  Very informative.  As for my size, I couldn't care less about what they think; I was only wondering if it might cause problems with the procedure itself, but it sounds like it doesn't, so that's cool.  Also, thanks for the exfoliating information.  I've always wondered about that!

One followup question: What's the point of the underwear?  It seems to me that it would just get in the way and slow things down, but obviously I'm missing something.

i just go in and strip from the waist down... not sure how they'd go about removing the hair under the thong... they'd just have to move it out of the way anyway.

After seeing the results with lazer Im switching to that.
The regrowth has been dramaticly finer.
There are some new lasers these days that can be calibrated to different darker skin tones which means yes they can keep adjusting so all the hair can be lasered off. so Im trying the full brazilian next time.
Does it hurt? Hell yeah! But the results are so much better.
Even a few sessions if that is all you can afford will mean that you will have much sparser regrowth that is very soft which will make waxing/shaving easier.
If you do go to try laser it only works on actively growing hair so shave for a while as waxing slows that down.

Anyone else done laser? Especially the full brazilain?

At the risk of providing TMI, yes, I've been getting laser treatments.  I have waxed for several years, but decided to go for something a bit more permanent.

Laser does hurt... at least for me.  Feels like someone snapping a thick rubber band on my naughty bits.

Over and over and over and over.

As hair growth is cyclical, the jury is still out on results.  I'm still a little dubious as the fine print states 80% to 85% permanent hair removal but it'll be another eight months before I finished the course of treatments.  We'll see... I'm hoping for better.

Lucy, since you're up here with me, you can look into sugaring, it's supposedly not as bad as waxing since the removal goes with the hair rather than against it like with the waxing. I've only tried it once and it's ok. As far as I've been able to find out, it's not available in the States. Other than that, it's exactly like a brazilian, using a sugar mixture instead of wax. I also have sensitive skin and have had minimal problems. Just the usual redness and swelling though it wasn't as bad after the sugaring as it has been after a wax.

Sugaring is available in the States, though I'm not sure how readily it is available outside of large cities.  At the time I had it done, I was living in Dallas... the one and only time I had a "professional" Brazilian done.

I wasn't the least bit impressed with sugaring.  Yes, it was less painful... however, I think that is because rather than pulling most of the hair out by the roots, quite a bit of the hair was just broken off at skin level.  I walked away from that feeling like I had a five o'clock shadow.  A week later I had pulled out the wax to do myself again as I couldn't stand the stubble.

That was just my experience, though.  It sounds as if you've been happy with it.

Actually, why can't your Dominant person do it for you?   I am fairly adept with my hands, good at following directions for a process, and VERY detail-oriented.  So why couldn't I wax My girl?   Anyone have experience with the "home wax/sugaring" kits?  Any reason NOT to embark on learning this skill?

There's absolutely no reason that a dominant (or sub) couldn't do the waxing.  It isn't hard and I dare say there isn't much to "learn".  The set of instructions that come with kits are generally short but give you all the details you need.

Except for the one experience noted above, I've always done my own waxing.  Yes, you have to be a bit of a contortionist and it takes a lot of willpower to make yourself yank the wax off when you know it's going to hurt like a mother, but it can be done.  Still, it helps to have someone else doing it.

(Funny thing, though... I find it very easy to do waxing on Firm.  Go figure.  )

I've used a few different brands and can honestly say the only one I found that was worth anything is Surgi Brazilian Wax.  Avoid the Sally Hansen brand.

Surgi comes with a pre-epilation oil (to keep the wax from sticking to the skin), microwavable container of wax, and a couple of little wooden applicators that look like the tiny wood spoons that used to come with the individual containers of ice cream.  I highly recommend picking up a package of wooden sticks/tongue depressors that you can get at a hobby store.

Some waxes are applied to the skin, then cloth strips are pressed into the wax until it's cooled.  The cloth strips are then pulled off.  Surgi is a wax that doesn't use strips... you simply apply the wax, let it cool til it hardens just a bit, then pull the wax.  It takes just a bit to get the hang of, but a lot less than fooling with cloth strips.

Surgi costs less than $5 for a kit and I've found that it's generally enough to do three Brazilians.   I've always found it available at Walmart, and no... it's not found in the haircare aisle.    Look in the makeup and beauty section... usually there's a hair removal section close to the nail implements area or the skin care products.

Good luck!

lol... I can't resist saying that this message is brought to you by the makers of SurgiĀ® brand Brazillian Wax.

What about using hair removal cream instead of waxing. Does anyone have advice/experience with these as an alternative? (I'm ...seriously not into that much pain)
