YourhandMyAss -> The tiny bike seats on work out bikes at the gym. (7/12/2008 11:30:54 PM)

I don't know who in the hell thought it was a good idea to put tiny seats on a work out machine, but it's not. The seats were so small I kept sliding off them, and could not comfortably sit down to peddle, because I didn't fit on the seat. More like perching than sitting.

Anyway at least we went tonight even though I was wore out and tired in just 15 mins cause I am so out of shape.

I have the same problem when I go to physical therapy. The PT jokes and says he picked the bike off the curb, I am starting to think he is not kidding so much... lol

lilsubl lol, yeah, and you should be in good shape before going swim suit shopping too cause it sure is easier:))

i'm not sure that they allow our size women to go swimming in anything but a baggy t-shirt & cutoffs, do they??  isn't there a law?

SinSoap -> RE: The tiny bike seats on work out bikes at the gym. (7/13/2008 12:13:55 AM)

so yeah... not sure if you'd be up for this, but you could potentially buy a bike seat cover and bring it with you for comfort's sake...?

Something like this maybe ???

that's not a bad idea, that replacement seat.  i broke my tailbone back when i was a kid and those skinny seats just hit in the wrong spot.

the gym i used to work out at had the wider seats...seems like it would behoove her gym to provide such a thing...$40 on top of the fees they charge???

i am definitely not a gym type of person, you couldn't pay me to go to one anymore.  i'd rather look silly in my own home than in the middle of a bunch of people lol.

I agree that bike seats are not the most comfy things.

Well done on going to the gym, your stamina will improve over time.

another reason for my favorite exercise.....a good brisk sit!

The other gym I used to go to had recumbent peddling bikes, and they were MUCH better than these peddling bikes, but 24 hour fitness offered a lot more quality than the other gym, so even though I really would of liked to go to the other one again cause the huge pool an the recumbent bikes, I chose 24 hour fitness, plus they'd just gotten brand new everythings, from the treadmills to the nordic tracks, an their pool is salt water not clorien.

have you tried discussing the size of the bike seats with management?  perhaps you can convince them to get larger ones...use your charm & powers of persuasion.....

I always thought that this was penance for me not having worked out in so long.

Ass torture.

Also may I recommend if you have trouble finding swim suits in pluys size stores that are cute, or they're cute but they cost damn near 70 dollars shop maternity stores. I found a really cute tank tini for 30 bucks when Catherines Fashions at large and Fashion bug wanted 50 or more dollars, and most their suits were ugly.
