Why is it that 90% of Dom/mes on here post pictures in which they look pissed off? I've been approached by more than one with these unpleasant images and BIG SUPRISE! was scared off . Why can they not post a smiling pic? For some of us younger sub/slaves , a dark scowl 9 times out of 10 will frighten rather than intrigue us. Any thoughts?

because it gets the desired results... which sometimes scares off a few people... but there are always those that it attracts as well.

sadly enough that is a smile from me. i dont give a full on smile because im self concious about my teeth,but that is me smiling

i usually don't get the impression that a non smiling picture means that someone is trying to be scary in a pic, i usually take it as being on the serious side or something but honestly i haven't given it a lot of thought. me, i prefer to smile most of the time in mine because i look bitchy when i'm not smiling.

p.s....hope you don't mind my answering since i'm not a D type.

lol i dont really care if the pope answers its just a random thing that i been thinking about. though if the pope was on here i think id be a bit worried

If the pope replied here I would personally be relieved. "You mean he's not an automaton?"

Anywho, as for the smiling, I think I have a smiling pic and a serious one as well...not really sure. Didn't think much about it, tbh.

Some of us older ones prefer smiles to scowls also.
I think the assumption is that not smiling makes them seem more true, a strict, severe master.

But the truth is that it's nicer to be with someone happy and a smile conveys that faster than a frown. To me, the message I get from a frown or scowl is that he won't ever be happy, that I won't ever do good enough, that I'm being set up for failure from the beginning. I'd rather see a nice avatar or a picture of a pet or favorite vacation spot. YMMV

I think most men hate their smile. At least, that's what I've been told by men I've asked. I say to them what they say to me; you don't have to be a model, we like you the way you are.

Also, they could be trying to look domly? Don't know for sure. I agree it's a turn off, but not because of being intimidated...it just makes them look boring.

I tried for the pouty lip but it just didn't work out. Then the photographer informed me the tab was going way up so I just took the damned picture.

The thing that gets me about facial shots is where the eyes are looking. Facial expressions are just a mood, a passing. More is better. :)

In an effort to look tough? Honestly, all they have to do is put on BDUs, hold up a sign that says, "Army of Me," and crouch down in some bamboo-like plants people are always assuming are pot. Viola! Instant toughness.

I've never particularly thought mine looked pissed off. I just liked that picture. Pretty sure I do have a smiling one, but I simply liked my other picture better.

lol...well, actually, some of them look pissed off to me too. Most of the time though I just laugh. I call it their "dom-face."

I tend to always look pissed off, or at the very least, annoyed in pictures. Mainly because A: Damnit, someone is taking a picture of me. I hope I don't break their camera. B: I know someone will see it, and I'm TERRIBLY unphotogenic. C: Christ.... I have to take a stupid picture to put up on blahblahwhatever.com.(mumblegrumble, I really need to teach my pet some basic photography one of these days). In general though, I do smile. Quite a lot actually.
