Another option... not sure if this fits into your preferences, but would allow for extended wearing and still be comfortable is a steel shackle and sirik set... Something along these lines.

http://www.dreamstrike.com/bazaar/DSWEBGAL/images/0122_shackle_chain.jpg  you can see the "collar" a bit better in this one.

The chains allow for adjustability in how much movement each limb is allowed, can be removed, and the shackles themselves can be interlocked to get rid of the chains all togeher.

Good luck with your purchase,
Thadius

I'm really not sure what the 24/7 slaves wear.  But we have to pretend we are normal most of the time.

eh, i'm eccentric enough at work that i imagine it would hardly be noticed...

i bet i could come in with a collar and gimp-mask and noone would look too close...

i am kind of interested in finding something that clearly says 'i am submissive' increasing my chances of meeting someone outside of the internet...

kikkikat -> RE: Cuffs & Collar question (7/18/2008 8:04:34 AM)

ah well.  my "eccentric" days are mostly over - in public.  I don't even go to clubs anymore.  I work for a national non-profit and travel for work (can just imagine how that would look)  And we have a teenager at home . . who just doesn't need to know.

as for shackles.  It unfortunately does not fit into my preferences.  I like to pull, and He likes causing me to pull against restraints - so I'm thinking steel just wouldn't work to keep the marks off.

Lucy, thank you for that link.   Good looking stuff.
Funny thing it turns out that the local distributor for them is the same medical one that Maya gave me.   But they look better on their own site (and come in better colors).

kikkikat -> RE: Cuffs & Collar question (7/18/2008 8:53:03 PM)

Oh wow. . Lucy just looked at your site.  Love the plus size lingerie!  So hard to find any that is REALLY sexy and not just pretty.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Cuffs & Collar question (7/20/2008 8:18:58 AM)

Just an aside, there is almost nothing leather you will find that you can wear 24/7 unless you plan on not washing. Wet leather is not a god thing to have on skin (been there done that)
I do not like leather cuffs, for the most part, so I have nothing to offer you there. However, if you want a collar that might be able to leave you markless and you have a small (or in your own words.. nonexisant) neck have you consdered looking at something actualy made for an animal? Leather over nylon or some other padding? They may not have the amazing look that something Leatherist might put together, I admit, but if it is for playtime and not show it might do the job.

kikkikat -> RE: Cuffs & Collar question (7/20/2008 10:16:36 AM)

DV - my current collar is a Tandy leather kit for a dog collar that I put together and lined myself years ago.  It's done well for a long time - but I'm feeling like I deserve to upgrade.  :)   In most things because my Dom has a full woodworking shop - and some metal working experience and I have some leatherworking experience (not much) we've done well with making our own.  but it's also why I know little to nothing about the stuff that's out there.

Thank you all for the links.  We just bought a truck so I'm still suffering sticker shock and may postpone a purchase for a few weeks while I recover.  LOL  But please keep sending so I can make a good decision.

VadFarkas -> RE: Cuffs & Collar question (7/20/2008 12:16:24 PM)

kikkikat, You say you have leather experience and a wood/metal shop available,
why not design and upgrade on your own? This would be greatly satisfying,
as you know. Having made one already, it should be fairly easy to custom make
to fit your needs and you know the best what they are. And is the cheapest as well.
Here is an example. It's the first collar we made together, out of an old belt, over
30 years ago, and she still wears it now and then. With care, leather can last a long time.

kikkikat I know you don't want steel cuffs, so please allow me to clarify Thadius post.
Thadius, the sirik you posted the links to were made by me a long time ago.
Since then I have upgraded all the hardware to Stainless Steel including the chains.
It's funny I should see this thread today because I posted some older non SS siriks on
ebay this morning. Thank you for the link and thank you both for allowing me to respond.

kikkikat -> RE: Cuffs & Collar question (7/20/2008 7:17:09 PM)

I have thought about it.  But my leatherworking skill is quite limited.  And while I'd love to learn more - I'm currently so overbooked it's bizarre.  I work a full time job that requires travel - I handle all of the business end of the woodshop - I tutor a few nights a week along with a dozen other projects.  I also don't know how I'd answer the classic "what'cha working on?" from the teenager we are raising.

Before she was living with us I made these while I sat and watched T.V.:  www.geocities.com/sadistic_furniture

But on that idea He did just make me a spreader bar in the shop the other day.  So we do get to use some of it still.

VadFarkas -> RE: Cuffs & Collar question (7/20/2008 7:29:13 PM)

I can sympathize with you with not having enough time and with the curious. Before opening my own shop and when I used to make things at work... on the side,my stock answer was "Harley Parts". That seemed to satisfy most.[;)]Nice cross by the way.

kikkikat -> RE: Cuffs & Collar question (7/20/2008 9:14:51 PM)

Interesting story on the cross.  We had an online BDSM supplier ask us to build one that could ship flat and store flat - like under a bed.  We went to their warehouse locally and met with the owner and went through a few adjustments to come up with this final version.  When it was ready he suddenly couldn't be reached.  A number of employees finally told us that he let the drugs take over his life and they were having a lot of difficulty.  Sooo we had this for a while and posted it to sell and it sat and sat in the shop.  So my Dom finally cut it down for scrap to use on other vanilla jobs after a few years of no takers.

We figured if someone ever wanted it He could easily build it again when it was ordered.    But it was becoming hard to explain to customers that were in the shop.

DocJRod -> RE: Cuffs & Collar question (7/21/2008 4:27:16 PM)

About collars and cuffs, I just purchased a cuff set (no collar) from Purple Passion of New York City, while I was at the Boston Fetish Flea Market.  These type of things I like to touch and feel before buying them, since it's hard to tell quality from the internet.  Unfortunately their web store isn't working at the moment, so I can't link the set I got.  they are black leather cuffs, with one blue leather edge, and black leather lining.  All of the leather is very soft, but they feel very strong as well.  I try toys like this myself before I use them with partners, and I can say they did not feel like they were going to give.  They will probably be a little on the sweaty side over time though, as there is a lot of leather there.

Good luck in your search.

msprudence -> RE: Cuffs & Collar question (7/21/2008 6:24:06 PM)

I use fur lined cuffs from JTs Stockroom.  While I don't submerge them in water, the fur goes through cleaning too, and it's okay.   I wipe it down.  The nice thing about the fur is that it seems to retain the smell of peppermint longer than anything, so the cuffs smell great.

My cleaning now:  wipe down with a bleach solution, wipe down with anti-bacterial wipe, and a wipe down with a solution with Dr. Bonner's with peppermint.

it might not be what you are wanting (leather) but i have had great experience with the sports sheets brand of cuffs.  neoprene and velcro whch hasnt ever left marks on me (and i bruise easily!).

they're fairly low-cost too, in the $30 range if i remember correctly.

I agree, I've owned a set of these, both the ankle/wrist cuffs and thigh cuffs.  they are gentle but keep the sub well restrained.

Zechriel -> RE: Cuffs & Collar question (7/25/2008 7:08:53 PM)

Good evening!
Daddy wanted a set that was leather and his favorite color-blue, while mine is black. Ebay. The set we picked is by XTC Creations and it is so soft and pretty. They came out with macthing collar a month later-of course Daddy HAD to have. But Ebay has all kinds from cheap to expensive, showy to working things. We also just ordered a set of 2 -24"spreader bars(metal) for $27 from them.
Gotta love AC huh? Daddy keeps his house a chilly 67 at all times. I fully expect to see icles on the curtain rods but it sure is more comfortable, especially on the muggy days it has been lately. Good luck!!

Love,
Zechriel
