If you are majoring in Psychology, this background should be very useful to you - Jung refers to astrology and the Tarot extensively. The Tarot is symbolic of the stages of life: the Major Arcanae begins with the Fool, symbolizing youth and inexperience, and concludes with the Magician, symbolic of the wisdom that comes with age and experience.
You might also consider studying Alchemy, another rich symbolic system that is intimely concerned with change and changing states of matter and spirit, much of which applies to psychology - these systems are as much pure linguistic/symbolic systems as anything, based on millenia of observation of human behavior.
Nathan Schwart-Salant's "The Borderline Personality" frames the phenomona in alchemical terms for example, while another fine book, Jungian Irene Claremont Castillejo's "Knowing Woman" refers extensively to various occult linguistic/symbolic systems, as many Jungian studies tend to do.
On the other hand, the cycles of the moon have been demonstrated to effect tree ring growth, evidence that gravitational phenomona effects organic systems.
Techically, astrology only defines basic tendencies, and ventures to construct probabilities from that - it doesn't, and isn't meant to - fortell the future in any literal sense.
Cancer/Tiger here, I forget the rest, although I think my Venus is in Virgo, which, I believe, causes me no end of trouble.
