Discworld zombies do not operate this way. Nor do the ones in the Ankta Blake, Vampire Executioner books. Are these B movie zombie rules?

A mix of multiple sources and conversations.  Just my rule set... I figure I'm just as entitled to make arbitrary rules as any other author =D

Rumtiger -> RE: Zombie Law! (7/21/2008 2:54:34 AM)

I've read the Zombie survival guide, Mel Brooks' son dosent know shit about guns beyond 1950 apparently, though his practical thinking is correct.

seababy -> RE: Zombie Law! (7/21/2008 5:25:06 AM)

Just like a good zombie this thread will not die!

I was talking with Vic last night about the problem of finding the best weapon to take out zombies.
Not knowing much about guns I said well shotgun?
But apparently that can be cumbersome and you cant carry that much ammo?
I have no clue, so I'm calling on all you gun toting Americans to set me straight.
Weapon of choice and does it make any difference if its a slow shuffling zombie or a sprinting one as to your preferred weapon.
Inquiring minds need to know.
I asked the people at work but they all gave me strange looks. (go figure)

This is Darcy

A pedant writes.....the 'zombies' in 28 Days / Weeks Later aren't actually your traditional zombies at all, as they haven't died and returned to life, but are instead the 'infected'. (The same is also strictly true of the Planet Terror 'zombies'</pedantism>

I grew up on the Romero brand of zombie, and will always have a soft spot for the slow, shuffling corpses of Night, Dawn, Day, Land and Diary of the Dead. However, those who claim that Romero's zombies never ran are not entirely accurate - witness the two zombie children who come tearing out of the closet when they stop to refuel the helicopter.

I have to admit that despite my love of the shufflers, I did dig the faster variety in Zakk Snyder's 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake, a movie I was initially completely against as I thought they'd sully the original's reputation (which sadly has happened with the recent remakes of The Omen, The Fog, and the travesty that was Gus Van Sant's 1998 remake of Psycho)

As for the Zombie Survival Guide, I found it a little bit hit and miss, but Max Brooks's follow up, World War Z, is a wet dream for zombie fans! Imagine the gravitas and depth of the writings about the most famous battles of WWII, and apply that to a fictional ten-year zombie war, and I guarantee you'll remember certain of the 'reporting' in this book for a long time after you put it down.

Darn!  I thought that I was going to hear about everyone's "Zombie Plan."

So. . . .

What is YOUR zombie plan?

darchChylde -> RE: Zombie Law! (7/23/2008 5:35:42 PM)

No matter how many times she presents, no buggering zombies unless i want to become one; gotcha!!!

Ok, i know that i can run and zombies only do that shamble/shuffle zombie walk; what's the deal with me falling every five seconds for them to be able to keep up?  Do i really have to go through with the tripping, actively looking for reasons to fall; or does Murphy's Law of Running from Zombies automatically kick in?

First things first, sorry to bump the zombie thread.

Secondly..

Normally I try to get My Pet's door, but it has been established that under zombie attack, we go dutch, in that regard. A friend of mine has given m a standing invitation to his bomb shelter in the event of a zombie attack. It's good to have crazy friends.

That law only applies if your a chick, or a couple that have been making out in a car then your basically zombie fodder.

My zombie plan so far is to trip, sprain my ankle then die.
Not the best one I know but I think I could build on it.

By the way I'm not sorry this thread has been resurrected. We need to get the message out there. Besides it sure beats reading the same old stuff like;

Why do I keep getting rude abusive mail from (pick one)Doms/subs/switches?
What is twue dominance/submission/slavery?
Why doesn't anyone read profiles? (because they are really zombies that's why!)

Oh god, you realize if zombism infected a kink party there would be zombies in latex and gask masks, and leashes, and collars, and red shiny ball gags?

I hope I get attacked by the ball gag one.
