Mistress had me install some nice eye hooks in our living room. The idea is for her to torment me while talking on the phone to her family about exciting things like: the weather, their latest church outing etc...(is this multi tasking entertainment?)  And she's also a big time reader and seems to think it might be nice to have me nearby for when she needs to rest her eyes from reading. She reads some dam thick books too! Okay, now the question.

How long is it safe to have a very healthy, flexible 43 year olds wrists stretched out above their head? We will be using nice comfy wide leather restraints so as not to cut off circulation or damage nerve endings at the wrists.

In our test flights we have gone for about an hour with no problems. Okay so who has their hands up to answer this question?

Until they start feeling cold?

Seriously, just exercise common sense. Cold, blue, or 'tingly' feelings are red flags for lack of circulation. Also, maybe you should invest in some suspension cuffs if you want to keep it up for a while- They work even better than wide regular cuffs.

I'm not sure how long is safe in your position, but i will say that i used to sleep with my arms over my head and i developed bursitis in one shoulder from it, at least that's what the doc thought caused it, and i was in my 30's then.  I haven't had any problems since i changed my sleeping position.

Ohwow proudsub. I thought I was a weirdo and the only person who did that in their sleep! Every night I sleep with one arm or the other sticking up.  Its always interesting when I'm mostly asleep and trying to force it to lay back down where it should be.

OP I've been told I do it for hours and hours.. I have a lot of stiffness but there are varying reasons for it aside from keeping it in the air. If you develop muscle stiffness then make sure you do stretches to help.

When i do sleep on my stomach i now tuck my hands under my hips, that also gives my back some support because sleeping on your stomach can be hard on the back too.

Arms stretched above head while in sleep position is irrelevant.

or did i read this wrong?

If arms are suspended from ceiling, just check circulation. If hands going cold, numb, pins and needles, its time to release.
