Oooh. When having any immensely sensitive area pierced, there are many things that can go wrong. I've nipple piercings, myself, but would never consider risking my clit. Besides, piercing the clitoral hood sounds far more stimulating. X3

ladysekhmetka -> RE: clit piercing (8/9/2008 9:18:58 PM)

Alot people have already responded, but let me add my concurance that you don't want a clit piercing but a c-hood piercing.
I have a vertical c-hood piercing with a barbell and I would say that it makes everthing feel much sharper.  The hood is the least painful piercing I've had and healed within two weeks.

But you should go see a piercer to determine what kind of piercing you can get because each person is different.  Remember that if you don't like it, you can always take it out.

WetJewel4U -> RE: clit piercing (10/8/2008 7:14:59 PM)

Seems strange your Master would be interested in a clit piercing mserie. I know your Master very well and he does not care for any body piercings except for earlobes.  Have you found a new Master or are you lying about him be curious?

Cyis75 -> RE: clit piercing (10/9/2008 5:34:52 AM)

I've heard the issue of losing sensation with an actual clit piercing. Another option that I've seen on a slave I was introduced to was a triangle piercing that actually goes through the nerve bundle behind the clit. It's sturdier to play with and heightens sensation rather than decreasing it. Though not all women are built for the triangle piercing so something you would want to discuss with your piercer as well as if they've done them before as you would want it to be done right for obvious reasons.

auburnvixen -> RE: clit piercing (10/12/2008 7:46:10 PM)

A professional piercer will tell you NOT to pierce the clit itself. You have to be built a certain way for a triangle piercing. As my piercer explained (she is a member of the Association of Professional Piercers), the nerves of the clit are either in a bundle -which feels like a cable or a string bean - or they are like tree roots. If you have the "cable" type, you can get a triangle, because the piercing goes under the cable. If you or your partner cannot feel the nerve bundle like a string bean or cable, then you may have the "tree root" type and a triangle should not be recommended as it may damage the nerves (not the outcome you are looking for!)

I have both a vertical hood and a triangle. No problems at all with either one. However, the triangle, at the point of getting the piercing done, was the most intense pain I've ever felt ( and I have had 13 piercings all told), and I literally levitated off the table while three people were holding me down. Immediately afterwards, there was no pain, just a little tenderness that was hardly noticeable and didn't last longer than overnight.

LadyQuirk -> RE: clit piercing (10/13/2008 3:38:48 AM)

I heard Elayne Angel was in Phoenix now... but her website is still up. Google "Rings of Desire". Very educational, lots of pictures, and referrals to reputable piercers. I was wanting the triangle but wham, Katrina hit.

No- you do not want your clit pierced. It's a crapshoot how it will heal and how much damage it can do. A big chunk of scar tissue in there is not good, nor is nerve damage. The word from my OBGYN, bitchin' about an earlier patient and the rage for genital piercings he has to deal with infections of. Apparently, the actual clit piercings he's seen are pure disapointment. And permanent disappointment at that. Do go see several people and choose a very clean place with a knowledgeable staff.

Hood piercings push or pull on the clit and I keep hearing they're fun! I wanted the triangle because I have an amazing spot right there that would make me one happy woman. And I race bikes and the horseshoe ring folds up and out of the way... The front piercings just seemed like they'd get in the way, but then I could wear big jewels on my best part. Hhhmmmmm.
I'd bet the ones that go numb are just sort of like leather butt? The nerves get so tired from so much stimulation they just need to go to sleep.

Enjoy it. Other women tell me they've had great orgasms getting pierced. What an interesting job that must be?
But few people will do a triangle- and it's a good sign when a piercer won't do certain ones, they're being responsible.

Amadan -> RE: clit piercing (10/13/2008 4:04:07 AM)

Hood peircings are my favorite body modification, bar none.
They have, IME, the highest gain to smallest inconveinience factor of any peircing, When I had one of my past sub's peirced for our anniversary, she was playing with it within 2 days, and was virtually fully healed within a week. She also was advised, and did, the cupping/peeing on it trick. Our peircer was Sharrin at Pierce Ink in San Jose, who came highly reccomended by several friends in the Scene. She did a fantastic job, and is utterly familiar with D/S relationships.
We went with a horizontal captive ring, because I liked the look, wanted to be able to use the ring for ornamental bondage, and because the vertical DOES tend to give more stimuli, which was a concern because my girl was already so sensitive and we both worried about the "leatherbutt" effect (prolonged stimulation decreasing net effect).
I'd disagree that they get in the way with oral, because I loved bouncing the wee thing with my tounge, and I found that when we loaded the ring with a heavy ball the "bouncing" effect of the ball on her clit made certain acts like anal play extra fun. That said, a vertical probably gives more sensation from wearing things with a tight crotch seam ;)

As someone on here once said, I like my women with the same traits as cars... Fast acceleration, leather, and a shiny hood ornament.

BLGirl -> RE: clit piercing (10/19/2008 8:39:12 PM)

I have been considering a Christina piercing. Daddy wants the outer labia pierced on both sides so that he can put rings in them and lace me. We are both concerned with my losing sensation if we went with a hood piercing, but I have looked into the under the clit piercing as a possibility.
Maybe a Christmas present for us both!

apiercedkitty -> RE: clit piercing (10/20/2008 8:25:54 AM)

Unless you go to someone who's completely inept AND piercing with his/her eyes close, you're not going to lose sensation with a hood piercing. i've had all 3 of my piercings for 3 1/2 years ago and, if anything, i have more sensation than ever.
To LadyQuirk - i ride a motorcycle and have no problems with any of mine. i did, however, have to have a custom U shaped ring made for my triangle as a traditional horseshoe had too much curve.

I started out with a horizontal hood piercing in the early 90s. After a few weeks, the hematite captive bead cracked and the ring came out. The piercer tried to re-thread it but only ended up having to peel me off the ceiling because the piercing refused to cooperate. I abandoned the hood piercing as I just wasnt prepared to be re-pierced.

Four labial piercings later, I'm considering a vertical hood piercing (which is actually where I should have started!     :)

Not even sure if this is where I want to quote with my 2 cents, but it seemed as good a place as any. Any piercing directly involving your clit is going to be VERY painful and dangerous to boot. I'm a bit of a masochist, I have a huge phoenix down my ribs and side, and that is supposed to be the worst place to get tattooed on your entire body. That being said (and think of the sensitivity difference between your clit and your nipples here) that I had my nipples done and it was EXCRUTIATING. I almost didn't let them do the second one. Now to imagine how much more sensitive the actual clitoris is, and thinking of shoving a needle through ANY part of it, makes me want to vomit. I also worked in a piercing shop for several years, and there is MAJOR risk of TOTAL loss of sensation in a true 'clit' piercing. It doesn't matter how good the piercer is, they can't see the nerve in there, and there is a risk of hitting it and deadening your clitoris. End of story.

In conclusion (damn, I am long-winded) go for the hood.

RiotDoll -> RE: clit piercing (11/19/2008 10:32:12 PM)

A clitoral hood piercing and a clitoris piercing are different. Most women do not have the anatomy for a clitoris piercing. When clit piercings are mentioned, usually it is the hood.
They can be pierced vertically or horizontally.

Healing time is fairly short, only 2 months. The piercing cannot be touched with bare hands or saliva for that period of time. It should be cleaned with sea salt soaks and/or Provon soap.

Sensation is only really lost in actual clitoral piercings, but hood piercings generally increase the amount of contact with the clitoris, thereby increasing the sensation.

As far as pain during piercing, it is supposed to be quick, and since there are fewer nerves in the hood (especially as opposed to the clitoris itself), it is supposed to hurt relatively little.
Hope this helped!

Please Note: I have not had this done, but have talked about it with my piercer as well as done internet research on BME. My piercings include 3 pairs of earlobes (1 pair stretched), 1 ear cartilage, horizontal nipple bars, and a retired lip piercing.

babygirlkitten -> RE: clit piercing (11/19/2008 11:36:22 PM)

I had a horizontal hood piercing, and while it personally did nothing to increase or decrease my sensation (I don't have much to begin with, unfortunately), it sure was cute!

There is a separate thread about 'corset' piercings that I think you would benefit from reading. Corset piercings are ALWAYS temporary, which is why it's safe to tug on them a bit, because the rings come out and your body can deal with the damage. Pulling/tugging on piercings can cause small tears which can lead up to BIG scar tissue and loss of sensation. Unless you aren't fond of your vagina or any part of it ie; your labia, I wouldn't recommend putting a bunch of holes in it and then 'lacing' it with anything. Especially if you are talking about keeping the rings permanently. Also, the ribbon couldnt really be reused as you can't wash ribbon without all the color bleeding out or it shredding to mere strings as it would be gross and unsanitary... Just a thought to keep in mind if you get... bored... enough to do this.

A friend of mine had her clit peirced.  She said it caused extreme pain and would not stop bleeding.  She finally removed the piercing and let it heal up after 1 week.

Elayne Angel is a master body piercer. She is very good. Angel moved to Mexico, but she still works. She bought a bed and breakfast a few years ago. She worked at the Gauntlet in West Hollywood for several years and then at The Rings of Desire in New Orleans. Good luck to you.

i actually chatted with her via email a few times when i was in the market for another piercing (this was before Katrina) and was trying to work out a visit to her to have it done... alas, it wasn't in the finances and now Mexico is a lil too far for me at this point... maybe someday.

I think this thread's been answered to the extent I could, I just want to reply to this post.

I miss having Angel around, she was really cool and I was actually thinking about her today. Pat Roig, who was one of the, if not THE, first of her apprentices, is still in the area at NOLA Tattoo -- in Uptown instead of the French Quarter. I still go to him when I want something done; very cool guy and obviously knows a lot about the craft.

I had my hood pierced, well, I did walk like John Wayne for a few days but the reward was worth it... Clit piercing? Hell no! NO, just a big NO!

It is NOT safe to tug on a corset piercing because it's only temporary. If the rings come out from tugging on them they are coming out through your skin. Yes, your body will likely deal with the damage....by creating a huge ugly scar. Which you seem to acknowledge in your next sentence:

Pulling/tugging on piercings can cause small tears which can lead up to BIG scar tissue and loss of sensation.

So I am not sure why you would say that tugging on them is safe... unless you meant that it is safer to pull on temporary ones as opposed to permanent ones? Actually, the opposite of that would be more true. A completely healed permanent piercing can take a fairly good amount of playing with. Or maybe I just entirely misunderstood your post.

Labial corsets are usually meant to be permanent and are quite often laced. Sometimes they are laced with ribbon (it's cheap and easy to change)....sometimes they are laced with chain and locked. This generally doesn't cause any damage other than the original piercing holes.

Yes, this is what I was talking about. Having at least 14 gauge rings, like three to a side and then lacing them with either ribbon for the cutesy pootsy look, or chain when Daddy is feeling the need to ensure my submission.

This would look awesome running through a christina piercing up top, too!
