i adore counted cross stitch.  i also cannot hold a needle any longer than a couple of minutes without my hand cramping.

Pixie....have you tried the double needles?  You thread them in the middle, and put one hand on each side of the hoop and use a push/pull motion.  They are about 2 inches long or so.  It really works the best when you have a stitching stand or some way to support the project in the hoop.  Michael's or Hobby Lobby should have them.  I have carpal tunnel, so i know all about the cramps, but with these needles, it doesn't seem to happen so much.  Also, those lycra stiching gloves help.

i havent seen the double needles, i'll be on the lookout for those!

the hands are a combo of cramps and loss of fine motor control, so being able to do it is kind iffy...but i miss it terribly!  [:(]
