It sucks you get out of the pool an walk across it with your soft pool wrinkled feet an they always cut my feet and make me bleed.

It's like the matts have sharp little pin prickly points on them or something. Walkinf on them not only hurts but cuts. Also sometimes the floor of the pool will cut your feet if you're walking back and forth a lot.

Some people consider that better than all of the falls that would occur without them... I do agree though, there has to be a better non-slip solution.

It could be worse.  It could be zebra mussels.  We have those in the great lakes...they will slice your feet open.

You could just invest in an inexpensive pair of pool-side shoes.

With my fat-ass?  I haven't been pollside in a long time.

well, truth be told the matts really don't prevent slipping all that well, I've slipped and slide about on them before. You'd think there was some way to rough up  the concrete around the pool to make it less slippery, and what's up with an all tile floor in the bathrooms. I mean you're wandering in most likely wet and dripping and there's tile that gets slick when wet.

yeah a cheap pair of flip flops will stop the problem.

just wondering why it does that.

I don't know. My pool has a rough surface and I've rubbed my feet raw on the bottom of the pool before but I've never really cut myself on it.

pool shoes. save the feet and reduce the risk of picking up a fungus.

but get the kind that are textured on the inside (the terry cloth ones are awesome) or you will find yourself sliding off of them.

if you are in the pool long enough to get wrinkly, your skin is really softened up, making it more easily cut (I know this from working as a restaurant dishwasher... even the edges of spoons would cut after a couple of hours with my hands in and out of water).

Actually, I was just thinking the same thing!
Maybe they just need to stop smoking crack before they post!

LDRand Astarte that is some pretty narly oak you are splitting there in your profile pic. it is oak, right?
i miss my days of splitting wood....such a sense of accomplishment when you see the wood all split and stacked ready to bring in the house and  throw on fire. i use to be able to handle an eight pound maul with accuracy....probably need lots of warm up to get back to what i once could do.

may we all find our bliss.
