Insomnia.[&:]

I know that there are some new things on

I sometimes suffer from insomnia, it's been bad lately. I decided a long time ago that the best thing for me was to go with it. I do stuff around the house - dishes, laundry, watch late late night (early morning) tv.

There is a new time release Ambien that is supposed to work wonders.

i have a hard time sleeping until i orgasm, then its off to la la land.

If that doesnt work for you, try warm milk, when milk is warmed it releases a chemical that makes you drowsy.

Things to try to help you sleep.

1. Exersice with either hardy weight lifting or swift cardiovascular

2. Stand on one foot for 1/2 to a full minuet while youre eyes are closed before you get in the bed.

3. Try Over the Counter Sleep aides or a Sleep Aide Herbal suppliment.

4. An orgasim wouldn't hurt.

5. Don't allow any lights in your room to blink

6. My mom always told me that if I couldn't fall asleep, then start reading the bible. You'll get sleepy in no time.

Yes, many people rely on the orgasm as a sleep aid

Jacques1000 -> RE: What helps You sleep? (11/17/2005 4:17:41 AM)

Tine11 -> RE: What helps You sleep? (11/17/2005 5:07:03 AM)

i might sugest a long walk outside in the fresh air weather it cold or not,and in fact find the colder the better, so when i crawl into bed, it feels so much warmer

Jacques1000 -> RE: What helps You sleep? (11/17/2005 5:37:06 AM)

HA everyone's got a remedy for this.

Some people take a tylenol PM before bed. Some people take a warm bath.

A good tried and true method is just to PREPARE for bed. Get the bed ready. Calm yourself down. A half hour before bed, begin mentally going through things you will be doing to go to bed and consciously bring yourself to a "ready for sleep state."

My most common method when I have insomnia is to use some self-hypnosis.

Jacques1000 -> 'Sleep transports sadness to some other mid-brain' (11/17/2005 6:18:55 AM)

apparently, you are gonna freeze but the upside is an orgasm.

Try some light reading. As an inveterate reader I often read short stories. At the moment, (when i get there in a few minutess) I will continue to read vignettes from NERVE: Literate smut. Now, it is isn't erotica or pornography but it is light musing on deviance. One vignette and I think...intriguing...and usually lulls me to sleep. I recommend i, all de Maupassant or Camille Paglia as taste dictates...

My problem is not insomnia itself, but rather a failure to go to bed !

Me too... Some weeks/months are worse than others. I was cleaning the bathroom at 3am a couple of days back. M

Depending on the level of my sleeplesssness, i'll do different things.

Sometimes reading a book helps, it has to be a good one or I'll just get annoyed and start staring at the ceiling.

Sometimes a just doing some yoga breathing helps put me to sleep or counting backwards while breathing deeply. The breathing and counting works amazingly well for me.

Listening to some very relaxing music helps, while focusing my mind on something tranquil.

If these things don't help, I will just get out of bed and find some chores to do that I've been putting off. I may end up tired when I wake for work the next morning, but there's nothing worse than just laying in bed making myself more miserable thinking about how I can't get to sleep. I might as well use the time to accomplish something positive.

A book on tape.

Unless I am passing out tired I need something like that to fall asleep.

I'm crazy, and with the fun exciting crazy my brain often refuses to shut down and let me sleep. A book on tape gives me something to focus one, where I can keep my eyes shut, plus the rhythm of the language puts me to sleep within a half hour or so as opposed to the hours it usually takes.

Close my eyes and clear my mind. The easiest way for me to describe it is think of a large spatula. Starts at one side and ever so slowly works it way to the other side. Never had to do it more than twice before I've been to sleep. Just pushes the thoughts and images out of my mind. Works like a charm.
