I rent my condo but it was for sale for $225,000 I think? There is a house down my street for sale for 1.2 million. It's nice but definitely not one of the really nice ones. I'm from Chicago, and I don't know anything about the foreclosures though.

Here in Huntsville, AL (aka "Rocket City"), the national housing crisis hasn't really affected us much. There is a subdivision being built down the road from me that starts at $500,000. I personally think that's wayyyyyy overpriced, but the houses are selling, so I guess it's what the market will bear. And hey, it makes my own house value go up.

I don't really peruse the foreclosure ads, but because we're a DoD town and because of the BRAC decision that will bring a lot of jobs from DC down here, we're actually kind of experiencing a housing boom.
