It's French, Bitch!

Anybody else watching this warped parody of O'Reilly right after The Daily Show? He cracks me up!

Yep! Love it! I've been a fan of the Daily Show for years now, and this one is every bit as funny.

It may be that I don't watch the Riley Report so I'm missing some of the jokes, but the weakness in this show is it seems to be making fun of the host where the Daily Show makes fun of the news.

Yeah, I think I've only watched 5 minutes of O'Reilly and that was after he was on the Daily show joking with Stewart about the upcoming parody of his show. But I really see Colbert mocking the knee jerk ultra-patriotism and fear mongering that so prevalent today and that O'Reilly may be one of the most prominent (or just loudest) voices out there. I've been thinking that the weakness of this approach is it will only work as long as a large segment of the population takes O'Reilly and his imitators seriously; for example, I can't see this attitude being funny if the mood of the country shifts to being like it was in the late '60s.

But since it is a new show they are probably still finding their legs and the show will probably mutate with time. I think it'll be fun to watch to see how they adapt.

Jon Stewart rocks, Colbert rolls, and O'Reilly blows....

The only good thing about the man show is it gave the world Girls on Trampolines. Gotta love that - it's just so unabashedly hetero, in a good way.

for both "the daily show" and "the colbert report" there is so much material that is just laid at their feet with what is happening in dc. stewart is extremely good, and colbert is a more lighthearted parody. they both seem to be a sign of the times we're in. of course, i'm writing this at 2am, for whatever that's worth.
