Those who know me know I have my visitation every Sunday, and that it's usually over at my parent's. Today was no exception. Due to the relentless rain, we were bound to be stuck inside, so Rain asked to bring her knitting along to my parent's house.

As I suspected, little hands eventually found that large ball of yarn Rain had dangling from her loom. "Can I pway wif dis?"

She looks over the loom in her hands and says, "Err, umm, no, that's not a toy."

"So why are yoo playing wif it...?"

That's when I started busting a gut laughing. When I finally caught my breath I looked Rain square in the eye and said, "Definitely posting that on the boards!"

And there was a look of fear. Not from me - I just grinned.

Anyone else recently have an experience that they knew immediately they'd be posting about in the forums...?

No, but I've had experiences that I knew I was definitely NOT going to post in the forums. Certain people like to point and laugh.

And the way he said it, the tone in his voice, the look in his eyes, oh ya, I knew he was definitely posting what happened.

The thing is, it's so true. Why do we as adults play with things that we tell children aren't toys and that they can't play with? And then go play with ourselves.

(And no, Shadow, you can't play with my yarn - it's too expensive and I have too much time invested in it!)

that's cute!! got to give the lilone credit for being inquisitive. kids say the darndest things, sometimes they have more common sense than we realize. sometimes they cut the legs right out from under adult "reasoning" with the blunt truth.
my eldest is mentally challenged. one day i told him to hold his head up high while he was walking. he grabbed the top of his head with both hands and walked away. only a kid can be that literal, lol!!

ROFL... I needed this thread today! Too funny and it brings back all those things my um's said and things I thought about posting, but didn't dare!

I wish we could post things um's say or have a thread. I bet it would be halarious! Smart lil buggers and they sure know how to make one stop and think! I have a story my mind goes to every time I hear stories like this... god! Thanks for the memories and the laughs!
