Do you have to have it removed, or does hormones make it go away eventually?What is the adams apple, Im ean besides the obvious answer of the thing that bobs up and down in a mans throat. I mean the scientific term of what it is, and what function does it serve, and why don't women have one?

hormones only grow breasts and few other minor physical differences like making head of hair grow faster, body hair grow slower and softening the skin.

Well some have less trouble with getting rid of it than others. Even in men you'll note some have a more obvious adams apple than others. The hormones add fat to the neck that helps some but in cases where it's a real problem there is surgery (Chondrolaryngoplasty) to shave it down.
If you google adam's apple shaving you'll find lots of links discussing it.
