ORIGINAL: Maxwell67 Hmmm... It is a case-by-case thing. If the condition is contagious or if it leads to erratic bahaviour that might disrupt our lives significantly, those might be a good reason. But someone with say, Diabetes, or Epilepsy, or Chrons Disease or any number of other problems that have an impact on those around them that is relatively limited are certianly not reasonably bad off enough in themselves to avoid involvement. We had a kitten once that died of congenital FIP after we had her only a few months. It was heartbreaking, but had we the chance to do it again, even knowing she would die, we still would have adopted her. No amount of time is enough... it is all too short, but that is no reason to avoid having people in your life. Quality of life over quantity. That's very cool...I wonder, though, if the kitty would also choose (were she able) to do it again, knowing how much hurt it caused when she died... would you, if I may ask?
