Well, it is my understanding ( and please bear in mind that this is just what I am able to understand from reading and listening to others...so feel free to correct me if I am way off base) that if a slave requests to be released, both parties sit down and discuss the reasons why. If after a discussion, the issues can not be resolved, then the Master makes the decision to release the slave.

Now, I have never run across someone saying that their Master refused to release them after discussing the issues (if there are cases then please speak up), so, I can not honestly say what would happen if he just came right out and said NO.

actually there was... He was a Leatherman... He is currently serving a 25 year prison sentence for his belief that a person that gives themself into consentual slavery can't ever be free again.

if any one still checks this thread

my Master's view on it is best summed up in what i call the Masters paradox.

it goes: A Master cannot own a slave, but a slave can belong to a Master.

Bassicly to explain if a Master owns a slave then that denies the right of the slave to her own needs and crosses the line into abuse.

But if a slave belongs to her Master, then she obey's and surrenders on her own. Her slavery remains a choice to be there.

My own thought is technicly it is always a choice, even if it is comparable to chooseing to starve yourself to death.
