I noticed the victorian household thing on our profiles under intrestes, what exactly does that mean?  Is anyone part of a victorain household? how dose it work, what are the "rituals" involved in this sort of thing?

Modern BDSM Households
This is what I tell my potential slaves when they ask for my version of these modern lifestyle households when they are democratic.   Many alternative representations are less democratic and replace the "common good" with either “Master” or “house” alone.  But this should be good enough to give you an idea of how it works.

What is a Victorian poly household?

In short, it is a non-monogamous environment in which there are set rewards, specific duties and rules outlined for the servants/slaves, members and guests of the household.  The household becomes a living extension of Master’s wishes through its rules.  The rewards and rules are designed for the benefit of the entire family.  Rewards are clearly outlined and designed to increase the quality of life for all family members.  The rules are clear and when broken, discipline is in order.

The Victorian & Edwardian eras were the "Golden Age of Servants".  Because of sexual service and companionship aspects between Masters and servants, and because of domestic discipline practices, many alternative lifestyle societies have taken Victorian lifestyles adapted and adopted them to BDSM lifestyles.  For projects like the Manor House and the House of Tanos who sponsor respected BDSM web sites such as The Slave Register, Internal Enslavement and Informed Consent, Victorian lifestyle has been incorporated at the root of their BDSM household structures and protocol successfully.

Victorian & Edwardian Style Homes
The Golden Age of Servants

Victorian & Edwardian Manor House – There isn’t a lot of information online about Victorian BDSM households but, there is information on servants of that era, what their specific duties were, manners, what their life really was like.  The House of Tanos shares his perspective about his household structure in this small but informative page:: http://www.tanos.org.uk/weblog/67883/

A Victorian household refers to a big house with a staff that is run by a set of rules and etiquette.  In the Victorian era there was a set way of life.  They wrote manuals on how to run a good house.  The prime 3 slaves in a Victorian house were a maid, a cook and a nurse because the household was designed to raise children.

A poly household in my case, refers to closed polyfidelity not open polyamory.  Closed polyfidelity and polygamy are often closely equated because it’s commitments are the same as a plural marriage.  In closed polyfidelity members of the family only have sex with each other, not outsiders.  Because it is such an intimate grouping, we must all collectively agree on any new members that may be added and slaves have a voice in selecting their new sisters.

For me, a Victorian poly household is one that has a structured set of etiquette and protocol with several slaves in its family. There are rules and protocol for adding new slaves to the household, for dealing with and raising kids, catering to guests, improving the quality of life and assigned tasks to serve yourself, the family, household and its Master.  To me, a Victorian household means a controlled environment governed by a set of rules and protocol by which all are susceptible to a ‘family hearing’, even Master.  It means everyone knows their responsibility, their relationship role, the punishment and rewards that come with it.  It means domestic order and discipline that does not require micromanagement.  It allows for a large poly family in a sensual and constructive environment with a quality of life as its core goal.

That really does sound like a nice way to run things.  I don't know how I'd like it if I actually lived that way, but the idea appeals.

I'm a workin' girl now.  I haven't had nearly as much computer time since becoming employed.
