desiringmachine -> RE: Orgasms vs. flying (8/22/2008 5:10:32 AM)

I am the sub whom RedMagic1 references, the woman upon whose body the question of whether "flight" can occur simultaneously with orgasm was produced. I'm very pleased to see this question has generated so many postings.

For interested parties I would like to direct the line of questioning away from practical, applied responses and more towards speculation. Orgasm as I understand it is the psycho-sexual culmination of erogenous stimulation of erotic zones in the body and within the mind. Orgasm relies upon the nervous system and the imagination. Flying has similar causes and properties, being produced both mentally and physically and often leading to a sort of break with language, feelings of euphoria or dissociation and release of stress.

But before we consider whether or not flight and orgasm can occur together I think we need to understand if and how they are distinct. There's an overwhelming assumption on the board that they're different. How can we assume this? Are they actually the same phenomenon looked at from different perspectives? If they are the same, then the possibilities for simultaneous flight/orgasm are truly exciting--the orgasm of the orgasm.

But let's say they're distinct. How do they relate to the body in their different ways? Do they compete? Do they intersect or collide? Do they synthetically "couple" somehow?

The reason why I'm taking this approach, why it matters to me, is because I think of orgasm as a sort of threshold to absolute sensation--when the body can no longer patiently bear arousal it reacts through a sort of sexual seizure, an uncontrollable set of spasms. I consider flying in the same light. What's different for me though, is that it only occurs in the presence of D/s stimulus.

I wonder if they're analogies... orgasm is to vanilla what flying is to D/s... if they are analogies how can we craft a framework which takes these experiences from a set of abstract relations and puts them squarely back into the world of experience.

I sure wish someone would draw me a picture.

mistoferin -> RE: Orgasms vs. flying (8/22/2008 5:21:57 AM)

I believe that they are completely seperate. I am absolutely certain that the subspace or flying that I experience is a direct result of the endorphins generated by stimulus. Endorphin intoxication if you will. A chemically altered state. The chemicals are powerful and are generated within my body...but it is not too unlike being intoxicated by "external" chemicals. So to ask me the question if you can orgasm and fly at the same time, my answer would be can you be drunk and orgasm at the same time. The answer to that question of course, is yes.

It's not sub space if Masters do it to, so I like your wording. ;-)

I fly immediately after and how long is in direct relation to how long my partner continues. So, don't stop!

MentalSteel -> RE: Orgasms vs. flying (10/28/2008 10:18:12 PM)

I do not believe that orgasm and flying are distinct, for both ultimately represent one's spontaneous pyscho-physical release of grip on reality.  Consider that during strong orgasm one easily forgets one's surroundings and location; during such a state one enters-- if only shortly-- a veritable different plane of existence.  That this "other reality" may be within one's mind makes it no less real, and begs interesting questions vis a vis the soul itself.  Even the word "ecstasy"-- ex stasis, 'out of the static condition', implies movement to another level.

If intense orgasm is a doorway to another existence, and if D/s is the key to open that door, then clearly the goal should be to intensify and prolong the orgasmic D/s experience and, thereby, to extend one's stay in that 'other' place.  Analytically rigorous experimental methodology can be applied to determine which stimuli are most effective.  From my experience D/s intensity (which is a fundamental prerequisite) can, at times, limit (or at least regulate) the period length; just as when running long distances it's best not to sprint, so is there an "optimization" point with D/s intensity.  Apply the restraints, quickly apply and ramp up the intensity with unanticipated pain (e.g. spanking/whipping) and vibrator assists...but then back off and thus prolong the agonizing ecstasy when the orgasm is nearly upon her...tease her, deny her, torture her, make her beg when her head is flipping side to side and her legs are involuntarily shaking.  And, finally, immediately after allowing her orgasm to hit, intensify and extend it with some additional, unforeseen stimulus (pinched nipple, vibe on "high", whatever)...and, like surfing, hang ten and catch the next wave-set too.

flying :) learned a new word today :)
that is a wonderful place to be...

moonvine -> RE: Orgasms vs. flying (10/28/2008 11:25:49 PM)

That sounds exactly like sub space to me, so I am confused....

MasterFireMaam -> RE: Orgasms vs. flying (10/29/2008 12:04:25 AM)

Physical orgasm first...then fly...then energy orgasms while flying. But, they do seem to have a anchoring effect for me.

"Flying" is being in an altered mental state.

Everyone reacts different, some never get to sub-space, some never orgasm and most do not know about flying.
For me, flying is an advanced level of sub-space and the two are different reactions. Master does not like it much when I am in sub-space because I zone out and can drop very fast. Master knows how to get me to almost to sub-space but pulls me back abit and then have me flying. Then I  have the most mind blowing orgasms[:D]. I can have orgasms before hand, just not as intense. I do not always have to orgasm first and then start flying. When I do start flying, Master will stimulate me some way so I can orgasm durning.
For me sub-space I am nonresponsive and the scene stops. Flying, I am more responsive and the scene last much longer.

It's a myth that no one can experience both- I do.

Whether SHE can experience both I have no idea.

For me subspace is a deeply calming altered state of consciousness, very akin to pre-sleep.  Orgasm is a physical reaction to stimulus and sense of security resulting in involuntary yummy sexual spasming.

I agree with this. When I space I climax (squirt) which is far bigger than an orgasm but I can't climax without spacing first.

sailorfrank -> RE: Orgasms vs. flying (10/29/2008 8:16:51 AM)

Hmmm well I think they should both go together as much as they can?   IE:   "Flying Orgasm"[:D]

hejira92 -> RE: Orgasms vs. flying (10/29/2008 4:05:41 PM)

I consider both what you are calling subspace and flying to be different levels of subspace. I get to those levels by differing stimulation, but both are hardly responsive and aphasic. (Master has been trying to train me out of the aphasia, with interesting results- the time lag thing for one, and I think I say weird things).

But orgasm is even another level, and when He stimualtes me to orgasm when I am flying or deep in subspace (for lack of a better term to describe "not-flying" level), it takes me to yet a different level. I can feel the build-up in those states, but the actual falling over the edge moves me back closer to consciousness.

There have been times when I actually mourned Him commanding me to orgasm, because I didn't want to leave my happy place.

Other times, He has sent me flying by denying me the orgasm. The energy had to be channeled somewhere- and it sent me into deep subspace. (Nothing like having a woman "on top" collapsing and going limp on you because she fell into subspace. lol. Good thing Master has strong arms- He has had to hold me upright more than a few times!)

lusciouslips19 -> RE: Orgasms vs. flying (10/29/2008 4:13:00 PM)

When I have been to subspace, I have an awful time trying to get sleep after. Has anyone else here had this problem?

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Orgasms vs. flying (10/29/2008 5:09:23 PM)

I don't know if they are separate or not, but I whole heartedly volunteer to be one of the test subjects for a scientific experiment proving or disproving the hypothesis.

Hell yeah.....Sign me up

Edited to add p.s.:  If I had to pick between orgasm or flying, I'd have to question all the hype around the Mile High Club.

DesFIP -> RE: Orgasms vs. flying (10/29/2008 5:16:18 PM)

I consider nonresponsive to be a very deep subspace, not a reason to stop if you know your partner well enough to read their slight body and facial responses. As far as people who are in subspace not being able to orgasm, yeah I've read that too. But as I have orgasmed while in space, also while in deep nonverbal space, I assume the idea was spread by those women who can't orgasm and hit subspace simultaneously. Or by their partners who felt insecure for not being able to get her to do both and prefer to assume that it's true of all people instead of just some.

Some women  can't enter subspace, some only enter a light subspace, some can't orgasm. Some can do two of the above but not three and some can do it all.

For me, I need to orgasm first, preferably more than once. I find that the more I've had, the easier it is to keep orgasming but that's me. Other women work differently. Just find out how your specific victim operates and keep her parameters in mind.

smilingjaguar -> RE: Orgasms vs. flying (10/29/2008 5:33:23 PM)

*fast reply*

I can do both but I have to be airborne before I orgasm.  If I orgasm first, I can't fly.  I have no idea what it's like for others.
