I'm currently painting my house, and to keep it from smelling like paint, I added peppermint oil to the paint... so now it smells like peppermint. A darling but vanilla friend walked in to see my progress, and the first thing out of her mouth: "Have you been torturing elves in here? It smells like a perverted candy cane." I just smiled....

You can get a wide range of paint that doesn't smell at all.

I wonder how long the scent will last. Just until the paint dries or perhaps longer? If longer ... What a cool way to make your house smell good!

ALL mints are square stemmed, if you can roll the fresh ones in your fingers, you will be surprised at the fragrances that are mint based. Mr. Mentha

Doesn't mint ice cream remind you of frozen toothpaste? It do I. The problem with putting things in your paint that weren’t supposed to be there is the unexpected results it may lead to years later such as errm paint peeling. I’m no expert in paints though I just like to think those nasty chemicals are there to stop the growth of fungus rather than let the paint act as a kind of food source for stated fungi? I’ve used both fungi and fungus so I can’t be questioned as to the correct spelling and or usage. Aye there is always a downside to innovation.
