The problem w/ what Rush says is that what he says and what he pushes, are coordinated a the "Wednessday Meeting" with most every other conservitive pundents and talking head.

Among other things done at the teleconferenced meeting,FoxNews executives,Rush, white house aids,RNC reps, and dozens and dozens of connected republicans, shape a talking points memo for the week and they stick to it pretty well.So well,it`s now called the "right wing echo chamber"
And Rush is a big part of that.

The amazing thing is that most of the people duped into thinking conservative media is genuinely independent ,don`t have a clue as to who Grover Norquist is or his roll in shaping conservative talking points.

One the coolest things the Daily Show does, are these talking points montages where almost the exact same phrasing comes out of eight different talking heads, over and over and over. It`s almost creepy how each pundit repeats the same thing, like robots, but Jon Stewart turns it into comedy gold.

If a media outlet is either "liberal" or "conservative", it is not "independent" by definition.

And, by that definition, I doubt there are any "independent" media outlets in this country.

farglebargle -> RE: What Rush said: (8/23/2008 9:17:42 AM)

Media Outlets are owned by Artificial Legal Entities, and as such, it's treasonous to think some imaginary entity has the ability to be either liberal/conservative and/or support any politicians.

If they don't have a vote, why would anyone, for even a minute consider giving them any voice?

But, of course "The Media" does what their owners, ( Big Military and Propaganda Companies ) tell them to. Either they do it out of their interest in selling more drugs and weapons or they do it because they're getting paid to.

I'm sure that Rush is happy as a lark this morning. He has a lot of material  to work with now that Biden is the pick for veep...

Given that Limbaugh is a drug addict, I'm sure he's too stoned to care.

Fargle... now, now... he says he's recovering... should we give him the benefit of a doubt?

Nah, I don't want to either.

Jeffff -> RE: What Rush said: (8/23/2008 8:01:52 PM)

The problem is not so much what Rush says,

it is all those people who take it as gospel .

We get both the government and the entertainment we deserve

I think that Rush is on 700 + stations now. He just signed a new contract worth 400 million. At the same time air america is going broke and has filed for bankrupsey twice now.  liberal talk radio is boring and no one listens to it..

Sanity -> RE: What Rush said: (8/23/2008 8:49:55 PM)

Yeah, you listen for five minutes then you're brainwashed and you can't think for yourself any more...    [sm=afraid.gif]

I guess that Rush is sending subliminal messages over the airwaves. Maybe Al Franken should try it. He washed out on air america to..

servantforuse -> RE: What Rush said: (8/23/2008 9:06:26 PM)

One more thing about Al Franken. He wants  busineses to pay for all employee health care but he wouldn't do the same for the people who worked for him. Another limosine liberal..

Al Franken![:'(]

Not only did he fail to pay his worker's compensation insurance, he failed to file his corporation's tax returns. But hey it was his accountants fault.

Don't get me started on Al Franken....

Of course not, even if they proved beyond any reasonable doubt that he has totally stopped taking the drugs, you would still come on here and call him a drug addict. Of course you have stated many time that facts don't mean anything to you. Then you wonder why no one believes anything you post...go figure.

Ahhhh now thishereboi ,has become yet another arbitor of credibility and truth, here on CM.

We`re truly blessed .

So Rush is still on the wagon,eh?.Then why does he accuse the "MEDIA",....of slowing down his tapes,to make it seem like he`s slurring?

Of course, giggling like a kid when Gerry Garcia passed away from drug use, doesn`t make him an ugly asswipe hypocrite. Now does it?

*NEVER* trust a Junkie.

When the choice is between the Junk and Everything Else, the Junk will win every time.

That's sort of the point of "ONE DAY AT A TIME".

You're an ADDICT.

You can choose TODAY to not use, but you're still and ADDICT.

*JERRY* Garcia, requiescat in pace. ( 1-Aug-1942 - 9-Aug-1995), named after Jerome Kerns ( 27-Jan-1885 - 11-11-1945 ).

Kerns was an American composer who wrote around 700 songs, including such classics as "Ol' Man River", "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man", "A Fine Romance", "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes", "All the Things You Are" and "The Way You Look Tonight". His career spanned dozens of Broadway musicals and Hollywood films from 1902 until his death.

Garcia was a junkie, too. But he died trying to get clean. Garcia's hairclippings had more talent than Rush

Remember, Rush failed in radio in the '70's until he could imitate Morton Downey Jr's act. At the same time, they needed a 'Minister of Propaganda'. ( How else to make the election of Bush 41 believable? )

He was good-enough, so he got the gig. I mean... Jesus on a fucking pogo stick.. .He even ripped off "Ditto-Heads" from "Dead-Heads!"

It's not so much that he is an addict, or recovering addict, it's that he spent years advocating a "no mercy" policy toward drug addicts while he was abusing them himself.  Hard to feel any sympathy for him.  Especially because if he had not been caught, and if it had been someone like Franken you know the bloated bastard would never let the issue die.

Owner59 -> RE: What Rush said: (8/24/2008 8:46:06 AM)

Jerry Garcia, RIP.

See ya on the other side.

thishereboi -> RE: What Rush said: (8/24/2008 8:50:07 AM)

I don't know if Rush is on the wagon or not. And I don't really care. That would be his wife's problem, not mine. I was merely pointing out that it wouldn't matter to Bipolar if he was or wasn't. He will still claim he was a drug addict. But at least he left Bush out of his post. Shows he might be making progress.
