well, i passed the H&RBlock course and am fixing to start working for them, i have some preliminary pre work classes to take on office procedure and stuff, but i doubt i will hold this job long as i am more of an active-oriented person and prefer being a server in a restaurant. i will use what i earn doing this to get me a car so i can get me a job i'm more suited for, i'm just not a "desk" person. besides that, there are things that Block tries to "sell" i'm not comfortable with, like IRAs. i would prefer to just do people's taxes and not try to push things on them. i know it annoys me to go to a place for one thing and someone tries to get me to get something else. besides, i would rather enjoy my money now, than to have an abundance when i'm too old to enjoy it at all.

I am older than dirt; so I have had quite a few "careers". A clerk at age 12; my Dad managed Leder Brothers Department Stores. A farmer. My grandfather was a large tobacco farmer in NC and I he gave me acreage to farm. Proceeds from that bought my first Corvette in 1963; a big block 427. A sailor; but that was short lived when the Navy thought it would be a great idea to put me in a USMC uniform and have me serve as a Corpsman in Vietnam. A golfer; after I was shot in Nam, I worked loading body bags at DaNang. A Commander saw me hit a golf club on the tarmac and put me on the Navy golf team; spent my last year playing golf...scratch golfer. A immunohemotologist. Ran the bloodbank at Craven County Hospital, New Bern, NC. A student at UNC. Found out I could get paid to go to school. Already had credits from taking courses while I was in the Navy/Marine Corps. A salesman. After Nam, jobs were scarce; but found a slaes spot with Wearever Cookware. Made a small fortune in short time. A student again; went back for a PhD in sociology. A professor; University of South Carolina 1972-1998 While doing that job, a real estate broker/investor; a business owner (importing used Rolls Royce) and an adult business owner..nude bar. The hardest work ever. Think 40 girls. Think PMS; think boyfriend/girlfriend problems; think drugs/alcohol; think jealousies. Retired from USC in 98 to head up the Breeze Radio Network in Wilmington, NC...my summer home since 1949. Teh station was sold after a year for an obscene amount of money. Golf course manager; BeauRivage Plantation...left after it was bought out by "corporate" Storm damage analyst for Lloyds of London after hurricane Floyd. Now have a store in Wilmington selling laminates and hardwoods. Terrific market; great money. To keep busy and entertained; SCUBA (I was attached to UDT in the Navy), pilot; Cessna and Bianca, race car driver; D production SCCA...Datsun Ladybird aka 2000. Snow ski racing circuit; Crescent Ski Council. Whew; that was exhausting.

His partner had his own cessna. So, many trips. As I was growing up I even contemplated getting my license from time to time. I even have the friend in DC who said he would come out here...we could rent the plane..etc..etc. Teach me for free, he is a certified instructor. All I'd have to do is rent the plane. Although the thought of a helicopter pilot doesn't sound all that bad either. This is me though, I've never had a focus when it comes to one career. Like Lovingmaster I've done a great many things all with passion for a while. Then I move on to something that uses my brain again. My part time job I have is more less a consultant to retail stores. Essentially I can do "anything" at all within one. From being a clerk to hiring a district manager and above. Account manager. That's the job I've been in the last few years. Teaching management. Loss prevention...I'm a human lie detector. Marketing...where to put the product for the most money. I could go on and on. But, I also have a career that was my dream when I was 15. Which I don't talk a lot about. Only because it is no longer my dream. It does pay the bills though. Every few years I get a bit ancy and want to delve into something new. Problem is I am so well paid...and so well skilled. It is hard to walk away from either job. People have actually created jobs for me in the past when there was none. I know many people would like to be in my situation and I'd happily change lives with them.

I own a karaoke business, so during the summer that is what I do. I have bar gigs and private parties. Now, during the school year, ironically enough, I am a substitute teacher. I am a sub. lol I love it.

Hotel Manager (AGM to be exact), in essence, a professional masochist..LOL. I'm the one who gets abused from every angle... the guest, the GM/owners, and my employees! It's a strange and wonderful job, and I love almost every minute of it!

i'm a full time student. i am doing a BA in History with Teaching Certification so i can become a history teacher. It's cool that MistressOfGa and i share a common trait, W/we will both be subs when the school year comes around after i get certified.

I did factory work for several years until the particulates in the air started having a serious impact on my ability to breathe freely. After that I got into the transportation industry as an independant contractor until a customer lured me into a position revamping his distribution network. Now I work for myself as a body jewelry distributor and make a decent living. I keep a flea market booth, retailing to the locals and we're planning on getting our feet wet on the fair and festival level this year, just for kicks. I keep a small inventory on EBay to generate some additional revenue and I maintain a part-time day job to keep in touch with the current trends among the youngsters. Toy manages the home, cares for the baby and helps out with inventory management and shipping, as her schedule allows. We're busy, but it's in a good way. We're both doing things we love and our respective responsibilities dovetail nicely. Timothy

When I got out of school, I went to work as an aero engineer. Spent most of my time doing wind-tunnel testing, and airframe modeling. Moved into simulation work and found my way to data visualization. That led me into 3D modeling/animation, motion graphics and video editing. Somewhere along the way, they decided to put me in charge of a small video production house. So I’m part producer/ part manager of a bunch of talent artists. Engineer working with artists. Go figure. [:D]

i am interested in teaching High School American History or teaching about World War II. i am in a WW2 reinactment group A company US 30th Inf Regiment. I think i will specialize in WW2 Era.

Just a student. No idea what I want to do. I wanted to be a journalist (that's still technically my major), but now I just don't know. I think I'm going to change my major to history.
