The gift of submission is the greatest gift a Dom(me) can receive. It is not to be treated lightly, and I sympathise with your Summer situation. All too often, I am sure, genuine subs such as yourself and many more fall foul to this sort of thing and it saddens me.
However, where I find offence at Leatherists comment is the obvious personal content, not knowing the first, middle or last thing about me. I am most definitely not one of those referred to in the comment, holding a value on the relationships of the lifestyle. I am 4 months out of a 5 year D/s relationship which perished by mutual agreement due to unavoidable life circumstances beyone our control. It truly broke my heart (we remain closest friends).
Thankfully, I am now entering a new relationship with a sub whom I have met on this site, and her gift of submission is treasured before all else in my life.
As may have been noticed, I took am apologetic approach throughout my replies here with indept explainations about my newness to this site, forums and their workings. I am sure there are many Doms here who need to "prove [they] can actually dom - and are not just another loser with his hand on his cock", but I am not one of them. I am sure many subs have had bad experiences with wannabe Doms (and many Dom(me)s with wannabe subs too) and my heart genuinely hurts for them. Most people are genuine. My point being - dont automatically assume that those who ask a question which appears to be a slur are nothing but a loser.
It is comments like the one Leatherist made which drive the more genuine of us who have a belief that the BDSM community are people of honor and tolerance from its midst in disillusion.
