I am a Sado-Mas, thats the simple introduction. For the past few years I've found that I enjoy when my parter grows truely rough during sex. This is the not the "typically" envisioned roughness of whipping/spanking/flogging, but more along the line of being attacked during sex, being thrown around, wrestled with, teeth and nails drawing blood etc. etc. Now, I know that some will find this not the most tasteful version of sex, its how I enjoy it, but I am minorly concerned about some things. This may sound silly, but if my partners and I are going to engage in such things, should I be requesting that somewhere in the near before hand she was her hands/use mouthwash? Or should I simply be ready with antibacterial items afterwards? I'm not exactly a howard hughes when it comes to germs, but I really would not care to get infected wounds from sex. I know, it may sound odd - a masochist who is concerned about the health effects of his likes, but I genuinely am.

If you know and intend to have wounds from fingernails and teeth, then by all means request a good mouth wash. You should be prepared to treat with neosporin afterwards as well, though. Mouth wash on both parts could make everything smell and taste a little more pleasant, so it wouldn't hurt, in my opinion. I don't think it really kills enough germs to skip any aftercare on your wounds.

A little first aide knowledge, a cheap first aide kit, and having a phone near by should take care of the majority of your concerns.

I agree - if you suspect that any blood may be drawn there should be some type of soap available, antibiotic ointment, and bandages of some form. These should be used whether your partner uses mouthwash or not. The infection could easily come from what is on your skin and not from what is in their mouth. If it is common that a little blood may get into your mouth (as could happen with biting) then you could both take the precaution of having Hepatitis shots in advance and make sure that you are both HIV free.

Anytime you break skin, there's going to be a risk of infection. A good shower afterwards with anti-bacterial soap would be helpful, as would be the Neosporin, band-aids, but there really isn't any way to guarantee it. On the other hand, how many people do you know who came down with life-threatening infections after a scratch? Sure, it could happen, but it's actually pretty rare, especially with proper aftercare. Just have fun and deal with the consequences later [;)]

~FR~ Yes, absolutely, if you plan to draw blood, both of you should be showering first, not just washing hands. If you don't have time for a shower, at least wash your hands and arms up to the elbow. Think hospital type scrubbing. Antiseptic mouthwash such as Listerine is also a must. Brushing teeth is not a good idea beforehand since it leaves microscopic abrasions on your gums. Also, try not to bite hard enough to break skin. The human mouth is alarmingly full of bacteria and human bites can do a lot of tissue damage.

I have to concur with those above. The cleaner you are before the better. The cleaner you are after the better. Care for every single wound after. If you plan to draw blood during, let a lab draw it before. I like this kind of thing, too! Enjoy! lovingpet
