Does anyone know how to remove the training wheels off a single tail whip? The instruction manual just stated hold this end, and does not include instructions on training wheel removal.

*chuckles* there are lots of how to's.. and even more how not to's if you search the forum under single tail, or bull whip.

I adore mine.. and I used training daily, and being apprenticed to get to the point where I felt comfortable using it..

It is one of those lovely toys you *have to* take very seriously because it can do so much dammage so quickly with little to no effort.

I have been out of the habit now for so long I would not trust using it on someone at this point.

It is a skill you have to keep up with.

Good Luck!

Gwyn

I have been told two different ways of learning.......
One.... " when you can wrap it around a balloon without breaking it you are  ready"

Two.. wrap the girl HEAVILY in saran wrap.....

All I know Is I am so tired of going to the emergency room and hearing..... " Not again Jeff"............."

Cali

Practice , practice, practice , watch someone good and emulate them, practice , practice , practice. Ohh. Did I forget to mention practice?

scifi1133 -> RE: Single tail whip -- help needed (8/26/2008 11:24:37 PM)

I've heard about the balloon trick....and I havent managed it yet. I have been working with a single tail for awhile and would still not be comfortable with my abilities to use it on someone.

someone once suggested to me using papertowels on a clothesline... try to not shred the paper....

azropedntied -> RE: Single tail whip -- help needed (8/27/2008 12:05:52 AM)

I started by using a pillow with a case and putting  some baby powder under the pillow case and just try and kiss it with the  cracker .When you make that  sweet spot connection the powder  tells you where you have struck .Then moved to paper  and tried to tear and not tear , and even put targets on the paper  with a sharpie .Then moved to paper towels , then to tissues .I have done the balloon as well .All of this is like CD says practice practice and repeat .One mentor  also used  the leaf method  targeting one leaf on a tree  or just try'n to remove a small part of a leaf  or just make said leaf  flutter and not break .Hint if you  go to a whip wielder home and has no leaves on his trees  that maybe a red flag .chuckles ..
Gwyn  is right too  keep up  with it stick with it .Lots of good advice here  ER on stand by ? well at least have decent insurance  coverage  for yourself , and wear eye protection when your working at getting better .Long sleeves  unless you like the feeling when you miss .Victor T had a great dvd  out there i think it was  his , i know there are others .Also look out  with in  your local community for a whip throwing mentor and ask for help .

LadySunn -> RE: Single tail whip -- help needed (8/29/2008 6:00:37 AM)

Very good advice from everyone. I have a suture mark on my left elbow from a bullwhip, I looked up at the ceiling fan while the whip was in motion.  You should check your space before swing the whip.
Bad move on my part - focus when practicing is also very important.

Jeff did I see you at the urgent care center that day :-)
