Fast Reply, and so addressed to None in Particular:

Only in fantasy, or Hollywood, does one's physician actually care. Sad to say.

no fucking shit.

there is a doctor in my home town....he did NOT diagnose a potentially fatal heart defect in one of my family members.  teenaged girl, had her sports physical and was pronounced "ok to proceed".  she collapsed in her gymnastics class.

his reasoning?  "i cant hear very well anymore, so i just dont listen to heartbeats.  i cant hear them."

and he is STILL PRACTICING.  he hasnt been reported.  needless to say, no one in my family goes there any longer and we have spread the word why.  who doctors the doctors you know?

OP....seek other opinions if you cant get results where you're going.  it took my mama 4 doctors before they diagnosed her appendix...which had ruptured at that point.  she was miraculously lucky, she didnt get peritonitis.  27 years later she's still around to be a pain to her grandchildren.

He's seeing the doctor tomorrow, again, for a large laundry list of tests. One of which is staph. He has had staph in his nose a few times in the past, but I don't know if it is possible for staph to migrate into ones tummy, but it might be staph again.

Thanks everyone who gave me ideas! And for the people who think he should consult a doctor and not a board, I would not be here if the doctors knew what was wrong. Posting how I should take him to the doctor is silly, as I've obviously done that and am still doing it!

You should report him if he hasn't been reported. Just a thought.

Well Op, Call it the plague for now, and have them start treating it.

NO lie, Ive been sick for the last 4 months off  and on with something terribly nasty and similar symptoms, I told the 5th doctor that it was the plague, he gave me antibiotics, (per the plague) and It cleared up... no lie

It's a good thing 4 out of 5 physicians didn't just give antibiotics for your made-up plague. Now if we could just get that medical license away from the fifth one, we'll stop developing drug-resistant bacteria. Actually, I have an idea:
Make sure your doctor reports your plague to the department of health, as required. The CDC needs to track these things. If he won't, get your medical record and report it yourself. That might do the trick...

he has been reported.  he "doesnt check hearts" any longer, or accept new patients, so his licence hasnt been yanked.  it sucks.

I would say to check with an infectious disease doctor. And that's not to say it's something extremely awful. These doctors are internal medicine doctors also and would be the best ones to check with. Here's a link to describe the infectious disease doctor and what they do and offer. http://www.acponline.org/patients_families/about_internal_medicine/subspecialties/infectious_disease/   Above all. I do hope that you find out what's going on soon. And I hope your Dom gets better soon. But as others have said in the post, to keep asking questions and become a squeaky wheel, there's got to be a doctor that knows what's going on. As well make sure to take care of yourself too. Just going through this with anyone, can be a daunting and draining experience, and it would not be good for both of you to be sick at the same time.

is there any word back on what's wrong?  some of us do care... we're not  M.Ds.  We're hug-ologists.

PrincessEllie -> RE: My Dom is sick with some weird disease, help? (9/16/2008 8:02:33 AM)

I DO know what's wrong! He has gallstones.
Yeah, my non-diabetic, 135lb, 18yr old Dom has gall stones. He's such an old man inside!
Luckily, they can be fixed easily. Yay!
