Hi, I was having a chat with a friend today, regarding the ability for people to see who has been looking at their profile in collarme.

What are peoples' opinions.  Does such a feature breach your privacy, or do you like having the ability to know who's been looking at your profile.

Ok... you lost the 'privacy' when you posted a public profile. That's like running around naked in the street, then yelling at the people who look at you.

I have zero problem with other people knowing I viewed their web site. It doesn't mean we've developed a relationship but that I was drawn to their site for some reason or other (often because they posted something that caused me to think "I wonder what kind of person this is").

One time where it really irritates me is if I go into a chatroom that has dominant males in it. Because my name (little sarbonn) doesn't really indicate my gender, I get TONS of people viewing my page THE INSTANT I enter a chatroom here. Personally, I don't care that they do it, but it makes me feel embarrassed for men in general that they're so desperately after ANY woman that they automatically stalk anyone's profile of anyone who comes into a chatroom where they happen to be. It rarely happens in a femdom chatroom, although every now and then someone will view my profile, but nothing like it happens whenever I go into one of the generic submissive rooms where there are male doms trolling like there's no tomorrow.

      I enjoy seeing those who are looking - often it leads to comment or conversation - or to me looking back .  But then there are those that have chosen to not be detected when looking around - and they contact me without warning !   [;)]

thanks for the great feedback everyone.

I'm presently designing a site and this issue was one that came up today again in discussion.

I know exactly where my friend is coming from regarding privacy.  But I actually am happy to have the ability to see who has taken a peek at my profile - like someone else says above, it can often result in a conversation starting.

How do you get privacy on the net?. you put it out there, you forfeit your privacy in my opinion.
I like to see who's dropped in, even if there's no further contact.

I agree totally. I've had some interesting correspondence with those who have chosen to perv my profile, or that have spotted me perving theirs... [:)]

It should have a little number next to it to say how long they took to read it. IMOSHO otherwise it is totally meaningless.

I like to know who's viewing my profile. Having a decent memory too, I remember roughly how many times they look recently too. Gives me a bit of an idea why they put me on their "favorites" or try to add me as friends without returning my messages. [:)]

I like it.  I want to know who finds me interesting enough to read my profile.  I also want others to know I have looked at their profiles.
