She wanted to remove(ban) books.
What?That she wasn`t successful,so that matters?
She went to the librarian three times to do this book banning. They said no.
Did I miss something?

Oh, I don't know - perhaps that some of the books on the list, most notable Harry Potter, weren't out at the time of the incident?

Other than that - I think you missed explaining how, putting every representation you make regarding the last eight years and being in general agreement, the Democrat party and presidential candidate they present isn't ahead in the polls by 20%?

The plain and simple fact of the matter is that ANY Democratic ticket should have been leading, be leading, and continue leading ANY Republican ticket by a double-digit margin.  This was the Democrats election to lose, and they appear to be well on their way to doing exactly that. :-)

Did you go further into the link?  If you want to keep an eye on polls (national and local) try this link http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html

There seems to be a disconnect in the numbers they are showing, 1 point lead for Obama among registered voters but a 2 point lead for McCain among likely voters.  That link also doesn't talk about the procedures used, or the number of voters involved in the sampling.  Thanks for the link though, it is referring to the same poll that they released yesterday, and has already been figured into the RCP avg.

I hope McCain wins, because....

on this day, one day after the political right has successfully socilaized the housing sector in this country, I can see no better reward for these faux conservatives running today's Republican show than to ride this bad economy all the way to the bottom.  They broke it, they have to buy it. Bad news for them as the magicians on Wall St are running out of magic potions.  http://www.cnbc.com/id/26563570

Maybe then, real conservatism akin to the Goldwater era will be rekindled.

Since McCain named Palin his VP, a new poll suggests, McCain has picked up a surge of white women voters.

Before the conventions, Obama enjoyed an 8 point lead among white women (50%-42%). After the conventions, McCain now has a 12 pt advantage over Obama in that same demographic (53% to 41%).

The poll was done by ABC News.

The response by the Obama campaign, "Your poll is wrong."

I'm not sure that I agree that 'most' people know something is up with Palin. I feel like I have about as good as grasp on her stance on many issues as one can garner from research. Her flaws are pretty obvious as are her successes. I think that 'most' people don't want to put in the time and energy to research her so that may be why they feel that something is 'up' with her. I would put this into the area of personal responsibility. If someone wants to know whats 'up'.. they can find out.

I do think the extreme left like the Daily Kos has blown it once again for the Dems with all their Palin nonsense.

The only criticism of Palin that I feel should have any traction should be over this woman's inability to make abstinence-only sex education work in her own household when she is asking the nation to put her in a position of VP so she may push forward the typical social conservative agenda of federal funding preference for abstinence-only sex-ed.  How can she work to restrict other families to this option when she cannot make abstinence-only work in her own home.  That would be downright comical, along the same lines of Bill Clinton legislating his views on marriage to the nation right after the Monica debacle.  And when Brittany Spears' 16 y.o. sister became pregnant, the faux conservatives were quick to chalk that up to bad parenting.  My, how all of a sudden those same faux conservatives are claiming teen pregnancy has become a righteous and private affair.
