In America, Philadelphia wins out over NYC for me. It's cleaner and prettier and I love the "historical" vibe you get there. Abroad, it's Paris for me, too, sooooo beautiful! Amsterdam is a close second. (Yes, I went to the red light district! No, I didn't go in the "coffee" shops! But I saw Anne Frank's diary.) chymes P.S. I live in southern NJ...and I will never eat another crab cake without giggling.....[;)]

I'm not very fond of big cities, but I like some more than others: Tokyo -- friends entertained me for a week and had a great time, too much great food and sake. Plus, it is the only place where I've bought a beer from a vending machine Montreal -- I had fun there a couple of times just wandering around by myself, and besides, it must be great if LadyAngelika is there NY is ok, but if I had to live in a city in the US it would be Philadelphia because the Eagles fans booed Santa at a football game once and well, that makes them my kinda folks.

I've travelled the world in my time on this earth thus far. After a while this place is like that place. It all blur's unless of course you had something special happen to you in the particular city. I travelled the US for year's on business...been a lot of places. Although as far as a favorite place, well that has to be where the most love is. Wherever family is. That is clearly the best city to be in.

i spent about 4 yrs travelling all over the US, and to some of Canada...and have a few favorite places. Sedona, Arizona...gorgeous red rock views Seattle, Washington...breathtaking...mountains, water...cosmopolitan feel San Francisco...a great city...though a little too liberal for my tastes New Orleans....it was great fun while it lasted Portland, Oregon...as Mistress is there!

Broome in Australia: Has the most spectacular sunsets ive ever seen in my life. Chicago in the USA: Some memorable experiences there, fun city. Paris in France: love the smell of this city...its sweet. Lake Taupo New Zealand: its where Master proposed to me. Tirrivanamalai in India: A special place. Himalayas India: As Above. Having travelled so much, all big cities seem the same to me, its the events that happen while travelling that have the biggest impact on me now. Remember when i first started travelling how many culture shocks i went through for example, when i first went to France and saw police men with machine guns. Coming from Australia where we really are cut off from the world in so many ways, it was so weird for me to see that at first. The first time i went to India i hated it, it smelled bad, beggers everywhere, had to use weird toilets, no man would listen to a woman (nearly died from that actually...long story), having to be so careful what you ate or drank. Egypt was a nightmare etc etc. There really was a cultural chasm i had to cross and many of the countries that i found to be totally uncomfortable to be in on the first trip i really love now. ok im rambling..i'll stop lol

Don't even have to leave the country. Anymore I really try not to. It's pretty dangerous for Americans out there now.

Right now my favorite city is Chicago. MsN and I are moving towards 2 years together and all my visits down there, I have fallen in love with the city, I love all the fountains there and my gawd there are a lot of them! Lake Shore drive is wonderful on the motorcycle! The architecture holds a lot of history and I like that almost all the homes are built of brick. I also love Minneapolis, my home town, It's great living in a city that is very clean, people are nice and accepting. There are about 10 big lakes right in the inner city. Minneasota is nicked "The Land of over 10,000 Lakes" and it is really a beautiful place. It is also known for it Huge artistic community and is very supportive of the Arts. San Francisco is also a great city and I had a blast when I was there. Too damn hilly for me to want to live there though. Phoenix was to hot and dry for me when I was there but the ride back through the Rockie Mountains was beyond Spectacular! Some of nature's most breathtaking scenery. I have never been to Europe, I am very scared of jumping the puddle! MsN has her mind set on going on a cruise, which also scares the chit out of me, but I may fight those fears and try if it gets her mind off of Europe. Kiddingly she says she may drug me some day and when I wake up we will be in Italy which is the birthplace of her family of origin. Also a place I would love to see if I can deal with the fear of flying would be New Zealand. Looks like a beautiful, magical place. *Brightspot

Until this October, London (UK) was my favorite city, but now, there is no place for me like New York! I am an urbanite at heart, and somehow I feel energized by being on the concrete----Chicago used to inspire the same feeling. Detroit will always be my home (come HOME, Bob, at least to visit ME!) though it's a husk of its former self. Really, we're like Los Angeles in that this town is a conglomeration of suburbs more than an actual city. Flagstaff, AZ, holds a special memory from my past. Miami, my second home!

Kewlowna would be it for me. When the valley is in bloom it is just a spectacular sight. It's a slower paced city than Vancouver and I like that. Some very neat little spots in and around downtown proper. And kayaking the Okanagan is breathtaking at sunset. I still look for the ogopogo each time I visit [;)]. ~mbmbn~
