littlemisssnarf -> starting over... (9/15/2008 12:19:15 PM)

hey fellow s/s...

ok so i took time out - needed a year or so to get my head together and sort some "issues" - had a bit of a Britney as i like to call it...

but now having returned to my true inner desires i find myself feeling a little lost - i'm starting over and seem to have fogotten all that i had learned.... actually that's not true - i haven't forgotten at all am just now feeling incredibly shy and a little scared about "letting go and letting in"....

i was wondering if anyone else had felt this? how did you work through it....? i'm absolutely dandy on so called normal conversation but as soon as it turns to my core i become all shy... and i don't mean sexual (although i am sure that will be the same) - i mean the old "feelings" thing!!!

ugh this slave needs some advice please!!

Just remember *feelings* are just...that...*feelings*

I can`t make clear descions all the time based on my *feelings*...

Some are good and some are not..but they still just remain...*feelings*

Actually...many times I just try and push them aside and do whats in front of me till they subside and my perception of reality changes back to some kind of...*normalcy*

A day at a time...

Enjoy not only what and who you are but what actually surrounds you...

It's so very human to feel a little shy about getting back out there... but what matters is that you do.  You took time to heal and grow and are now ready to step out there... it will be scary, but hopefully it will be well worth it with the lessons learned and a new look at life and yourself.  Don't get hung up on the shy parts... just walk on through them to the other side.  You should be proud of where you have come from and believe in yourself because you did it.  With a good choice and a bit of luck, you might just find the scary walk worth it! Good luck to you!

thanks guys - am constantly taking deep breaths!

honestly i so want to allow myself to give over what's going on in my little darn soul - but is so tough!

I guess like (a day at a time) - it is one step at a time... Oh how life can imitate itself!

may the sun shine on your soul

Go slowly enough that you're comfortable with your pace. Some people jump straight into the pool, others ease themselves in one toe at a time. Neither is better, both get to have a swim when it comes down to it. So don't let anybody rush you, because if they don't care that you aren't ready, then that's a sign they don't really care about you. Be friends first.

littlemisssnarff, i think you just need more time alone to rediscover and reconnect with yourself.  time will fix everything.  if you weren't a shy gal when it comes to opening yourself up to intimate emotions before, you will get over that feeling sooner or later.  if you are a shy gal to begin with, then you need time to learn to trust again.  don't rush yourself, it's going to do you more harm than good.

peace out, all!  [:D]

Good advice to just keep putting one foot in front of the other.  When i'm experiencing "freeze" (want to move forward but too scared to lift up foot) i try to identify what exactly i'm scared of (failing, meeting an a***hole, being let down by someone who means something to me, etc.).  In that way i can try and put my feet into the spaces i'm still comfortable with and move slightly forward and hopefully the positive will help me push the negative further and further away.

Not sure if that is very clear but it's a deeply emotional process for me so it's hard to put into words, if any of it helps i'm pleased.  Feel free to mail me on the other side if you fancy a chat.
