FatDomDaddy -> Dem Gov Sebelius states Obama's race is reason for close polls (9/17/2008 5:28:49 PM)

I got pilloried by some of the more left leaning posters her for suggesting the same thing. Of course, this is something that the Clintons, Ed Rendell, even Joe Biden has been hinting at all along. Obama cannot win because many White Democrats will not vote for him.

Here is is Sebelius' quote and the link to the story:

"Have any of you noticed that Barack Obama is part African-American?” Sebelius asked in response to a question about why the election is so close. “That may be a factor. All the code language, all that doesn't show up in the polls. And that may be a factor for some people.”

If this election is all about issues, then why does she bring it up in the first place?

You got pilloried? How lucky you are. Some of us would pay good money for that kind of treatment.

Why did you get pilloried again? It's not very clear what you're referring to.

This election isn't even close to being "close."
Abadabba will lose in a landslide because he's a Leftist and a global socialist.

What's interesting is the race card is already being used. When that card is played, you know Obama is in trouble. He used it against Hillary when she started catching up. The whole "Im not like those guys on the dollar bills" type of stuff.

kittinSol -> RE: Dem Gov Sebelius states Obama's race is reason for close polls (9/17/2008 5:45:22 PM)

The only people using the 'race card' here (what a horrible fucking expression, by the way) are those that are obsessing over it, and that ain't Obama, my friend. It's his detractors that can't let go of it.

On the other hand, I can think of an amazingly large portion of the GOP and Republican voters who are whining endlessly because apparently, Palin's getting a tough ride from the 'evil libewal pwess' because of her sex.

See how fucked up this all seems to an outsider?

bipolarber -> RE: Dem Gov Sebelius states Obama's race is reason for close polls (9/17/2008 5:45:40 PM)

Obama = 84,000 people in a stadium.
McCain = 8,000 at his latest rally (and lied, saying it was 23,000)
Palin = down ten points in the polls, three days after her interview.
Biden = gaining in polls, mostly due to his "straight talk" about who/what caused the LB failure, AIG, and now (it looks like) HP will be taking the next hit.

The first debate is coming up, and McCain is reeling, because he, by his own admission, "Doesn't understand the economy." And From the looks of things, once Palin is put in front of a few pitches, she has no option but to bunt, saying the same thing over and over...

It ain't over yet.

Despite the republican whisper campaigns calling Obama a muslim, that he was educated in a mardrassa, that he may not actually be an American citizen, the lie that he was for kindergarden sex ed, the lie that he doesn't have a plan, the lie, the lie, the lie...

From most of the electoral maps I've been seeing, the election is still anyone's call. Hardly the makings for a "racist landslide." Pop, if you're really hoping for him to lose, you'd better pray that the damage to the economy that the GOP has saddled the US with disappears in a day or two...

Speaking of which... Gosh, wouldn't it be nice to have some of that $500+ billion that Bush squandered in Iraq?

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Dem Gov Sebelius states Obama's race is reason for close polls (9/17/2008 5:52:02 PM)

Honestly, I don't understand how he can attract many white voters if the attitude coming from his camp is, if you are white and you don't vote Obama than you are a racist.  It may have some truth (though bigotry and not racism is at play) but the Obama minions playing to that notion does not do their candidate any favors.

This is nothing. Usually it is much worse. Look at the swiftboating of Kerry and the fake documents against Bush's service record in 2004.

....I think this is going to get even more dirty a month from now. Just wait till the 527 attack ads hit the airwaves.

Sun Kittin...

Kathleen Sebelius used it and SHE is not only an Obama supporter but a vetted VP finalists.

Though with friends like her... who needs enemies

But you think that those that aren't drinking the Palin Tampon Tea are anti-feminists. Okkkkkkay [8|] .

Masternslave07 -> RE: Dem Gov Sebelius states Obama's race is reason for close polls (9/17/2008 5:58:27 PM)

I remember when Obama first decided to run, he claimed on "60 Minutes" that if he lost, it would be because of his policies and not his race and he would refrain from injecting race into his campaign. Well, like many other things he has stated, he has changed his view on this as well. He was right the first time. He will lose. And not because of his race.

[/quoteYou don't need to understand it FDD,all you need to do is get used to the idea of saying President Obama.BTW those 18 million plus voters during the nominating process included a goodly portion of white voters....they must have been able to get past that whole attitude thing you percieve coming from his camp.As an aside could you once again explain the difference between a bigot and a racist...I keep forgetting and tend to lump them together, silly of me I know especially after all the trouble you have taken to explain this time and again.

No... that is not what I have said at all.

I think Palin proves that one can be Republican AND a Feminists and those that deny her feminists credentials do so out of political ideology and not feminist ideals.

i am confused...Obama has changed his name to Sebelius???

I think iron is propably closer to the truth here.

Obama could not have been happy with her statement, no doubt he was livid with it. Frankly it sounds more like a James Carvelle/Terry Mcauliffe line. Hilliary will not be going away, trust me.

Palin is no Feminist. She is the unfortunate consequence of Feminism.

I have a "neighbor", up the street, said to my face, "I ain't gonna vote for no N*****." This is a country club community. I can imagine what the Billy-Joe-Jim-Bobs say to each other.
