I have recently been introduced to the bdsm community, and am really enjoying it. Recently though, a friend introduced me to the idea of being a puppy for a weekend. This idea has really taken up alot of my thoughts, and now I really want to try it. However, I was wondering if any one else has done this, and if so, what their overall experience was like, and details about what happened. I'm pretty sure I'd like it, but I just want to hear what other people think about it (Owners and pets) before I commit to doing it.

While I am interested in hearing things from the Master's side, I am mostly interested in hearing from the pets, as that is what I would do.

Also, from a Master's perspective, is this a particularly challenging thing for you to do, or is having a human pet relatively low maintenance?

After I peed all over the carpet, chewed up all the leather shoes and got smacked on the nose with a newspaper, I lost interest and didn't want to do it anymore.

Male dogs who mis-behave around here dont get a newspaper. They get a D-cell mag lite. Makes a much "deeper"impression.

I LOVE puppy play.

Being led on a leash (or by the hair, mmmmm), being pet, crawling on the floor, laying at His feet, having my own bowl to eat/drink from, whatever. Love it.

I want my own puppy bed and cage one day, I want my own puppybed next to his own on the floor. I'm always grateful to sleep with him in the bed... its something I appreciate because its something he could just as easily take away if he wanted to..

I actually have dog tags, my nick name's going to be imprinted on the front with my full name, bday, and birthplace on the back. The second one's going to have "Belongs to:" and his name, and "Adopted on: April 18th, 2008" (which is the day we met) since he hasnt collared me yet ^_^

I wouldn't go from zero to an entire weekend. I would try a couple of hours one evening first. You may find that having to go outside onto the lawn instead of using the bathroom really is your limit. Try it and see.

First, I agree with the others who suggest a slow start; a few hours can tell you a lot.
Second, I’d suggest discussing with the top some details regarding what they will expect you to do.  Will they take you outside to pee and poop?  Will they put people food in the bowl or want you to eat dog food?    Crawling on the floor can be hard on the knees, and my arms got tired too---it’s not as easy as it looks (or maybe I’m just getting old.).
Drinking from a bowl was hard for me to figure out; I’d suggest practicing.
We only did it for an evening but it was great fun.
BTW---rolled up newspaper has a surprising sting and it really hurts!

Well, she lives on the third floor of an apartment, so, there's really no way for me to go out onto the lawn, but she had mentioned something about setting up a pee pad on the balcony. I'd go for that, I think. Also, we were gonna use people food, but maybe something that looks like dog food, like beef stew or something.

For the record, pee pads really don't hold a lot of urine.  My shih tzu used to drench them (or maybe he was just trying to be impressive).  Dogs can be trained to use litter boxes just like cats, so maybe you could go for that instead?  Wouldn't want overflow bothering the downstairs neighbors...  lol

For authentic-looking dog food that is really people food....just open up a can of corned beef hash.  It looks and smells just like a can of Alpo before it's heated up.

The food tastes really nasty, the de-worming medicine will really upset your tummy and having your ears cropped hurts like a bitch. Other than that it can be fun.

And try not to bite the mailman....10 days in the pound under quarantine ain't a picnic....especially with "Bubba" the Bulldog in the next kennel.

Maybe you could go out to a garden supply store, and get a potted ficus tree... you could just pee on the tree, and let the potted soil absorb the urine. (The urine will eventually kill the tree, being unprocessed, and contained in such a small volume.) But, they aren't too expensive.

You'd have to be one seriously charming puppy to be worth a full weekend
