As for play?  Well, I'm in a phase where I am just really discovering my submissiveness.  It's hard to say... but being highly aroused and teased helps :)

But as for true, deep, submission in my life?  That's simple.  Love.  Every time I have loved someone romantically in my life (which I can count on one hand) I have felt a genuine desire to submit completely, long before I knew any more of BDSM than the popular image of the leather-clad dominatrix... which did not appeal to me even as a horny 13-year old.  (Although bondage, spankings, etc. are great as symbols of that submission :)  )

I hate that 'button' and all those other pressure point 'buttons'.  Ok, maybe I like them a lil. lol  ;-)  Back to the original question though, nothing "makes" me submit other than my desire to submit... but I understand what you're trying to ask.  What makes me instantly melt and feel weak in the knees?  Hands around my neck - that's definitely my fav (or a belt, or towel, or whatever is handy).

This all happens on instinct for me. The less the other person is being intellectual and the more they express impulse directly, the better the effect. Intellectually it becomes comical. Physically it is real. The words should enhance the action. Be dominant and I submit. Play the role of dominant and I will watch and wait for the action to start. Prance around acting like you think a Dominant might act and I will sit down at google and look you up some local acting classes.

I asked my wife this and, as usually happens, she looked confused at the question. To this day, I don't think she sees what she is doing as "submitting" nor does she see herself as "mine". I think, in general, she just goes through her life being herself... my wife who is perfectly content to obey and please me.

So in reviewing it in my own head and trying to translate what she would say if she thought like this...

In General: Love, trust and respect. That is what drives her submission.

In Specific: My need for control. More than anything, she wishes to meet my needs, wants and desires. So if I express a specific need for control, for instance, "Come to me mine. I've had a bad day and I need to boss you around some." or in a more sexual context, "Bend over the table mine. It makes me so hot to be able to turn and pose and touch and caress your body at my whim." Those sorts of statements will drop her right into full-on submissive mode because I've made it clear that that's what I need right now.

That'd be different than me saying, "Make me a screwdriver." which would just be interpreted as a way to please me. She'd assume I needed a drink and so she'd go make me the drink with no particular focus on submission of any sort.

i'm not quiet sure.. But i know that He knows.. Which is the best way for it to be i suppose.. Perhaps its simple chemistry.. A mere flick of His eyes can have me slipping down from standing to kneeling in seconds, and then nothing and nobody else exists.. Sometimes, when i think about it, it can be something as small as a change in His tone.. But i'm never conscious of it at the time.. Though its never happened with anybody else but Him.

Interesting question.  I can't say that I have experienced having the safety to submit completely but thre-in lies the answer but since I used that as an explanation, I'll choose an adjunct to highlight: trust.

This is true for me. There are several things that take my breath away, leave my mouth dry and my knees shaking - but only when he does them.

We went out last night, which reminded me of another that is HIGH on my list -
Standing beside Him in heels that make me taller than He is.
It's the fact that He put me in the heels, and being there beside him reminds me of that.
It's the fact that He has enough confidence in Himself to want me in heels that make me taller than Him.
It's the fact that standing beside Him, with me taller, not only is He still clearly in control, but that fact is patently obvious, and, i'm thinking, might very well be obvious even to an outside observer.
Whatever it is, when I stand beside Him, suddenly taller than He - it does it for me. And it is fucking HOT.

It's already been said here, but chemistry, connection, and a bond that grows and evolves over time. When I trust and come to deeply care about someone, my desire to please becomes almost unstoppable. There wasn't anything I wouldn't try to do or rationalize doing for my former Master. This is something I have become acutely aware of, and careful of, as it can put me in situations that aren't very healthy for me. Because of that, I don't think there is a "no matter what" for me anymore. But then I'm taking the OP literally and maybe it wasn't written literally.
