Great minds think alike LadyLou! A little self indulgence is a good thing. Actually I plan on doing a very similar senario with my sub tonight in fact. But that was my point:  if you both enjoy it, then it's not being selfish.  If, however, someone wants playtime and repeatedly doesn't get it, he'll move on.

I wouldn't mind it at all for awhile..i don't know the exact length of time i would put up with it but it is something i wouldn't mind at this stage in my life.If i was younger i'd most likely bolt but as they are right now..no i would hang on at least for a reasonable amount of time before discussing it.

Perhaps I'm just not a good submissive.

Ma'am is the center of my world, not my whole world.  Her happiness truly is of the greatest importance to me, and it does lead to my own.  But that is only to an extent.  Were She or i to completely disregard my own direct happiness in pursuit of Her own, it would lead to dissatisfaction and resentment on my end.  As a result, my service and attention to Her would suffer (no matter my best efforts and intentions).  With open communication, something would at that point have to seriously change.

Believe it or not, i once believed that all that was important would be my dominant's happiness and satisfaction; and while that works well in the realm of fantasy, in my experience it does not effectively last long in a real-time relationship.  D/s, in my opinion is not a one-way street.

Yes, i accept that i am in an unbalanced relationship and that the main focus is on my Owner; this is actually they way i want it and it makes me very happy.  But that doesn't mean that my own needs and desires are ignored.  Like i said earlier, such a situation would actually be intensely enjoyable on an occasional basis; but were it to be all there is to our interactions i'd not be happy.
