I know exactly why I'm single.  I haven't found a woman that meets my impossibly stringent requirements of, alive, available and likes me.

So-called “seeking” single subs simply state:

Why are you single? Took time to heal
Is it you? Is it them?  Both
Do you know why? Yes
If you had to admit something(s) about yourself that contribute(s) to your singlehood status, what would it/they be? n/a
Are you completely honest and frank with yourself about it?
As much as possible

Are you scared? Sometimes
Are you picky? Yes
Are you in a place not conducive to a relationship? Part of the issue
Do you have other priorities? None that are inflexible
Are there characteristics about your personality or the expression of your submissiveness that make relationships difficult? (Or impossible, even?)  Quite possible

Is it your location? Somewhat
Lack of opportunity?  Partially
Are they all wankers and fakes? n/a
Are you having trouble matching because what you seek in a relationship or interaction isn’t readily available? Yes
Is it unique?
Not really
Are they seemingly looking for (general) characteristics that preclude you? If so, what do these characteristics seem to be? Are they changeable?
Do they have (general) characteristics that turn you off? Again, what are they and are they changeable?  n/a

Do you actively “seek?” In what ways? Somewhat seeking
Do you reach a certain phase of the seeking and encounter problems? Not really
Is it chronic?  n/a

Is it something(s) outside of your control? Gave up trying to control this

What else?  dunno

Is this too many questions? Yes?  Depends......

Answer any, all or none, at your whim.

Thanks!  Welcome

Maybe its because you are holding up shiny things in your pic and s-types are often totally distracted by that... Kind of like dangling a ball of yarn in front of a cat and expecting them to pay attention to you...

Aravain this is pretty cool of you to share. You're wise, I'm thinking. Do you think being emo is an obstacle? Share or don't as you like!

Tee darlin', no more coffee for today.  And probably for the rest of the week as well.

Cali

Cali, you wouldn't be so cruel as to actually take Tee's coffee away? I've been deprived of my coffee intake since Saturday and I'm turning into a mindless zombie. Please do not do this to Tee.

As for Tee's questions...

I refuse to answer any of them on the grounds that my responses may incriminate me.
You don't have to answer any questions, Sweet Sappa. ...How would they incriminate you? What might you say to give yourself away? What are you hiding? Is it juicy? Can you tell me more???

tee hee

Are you completely honest and frank with yourself about it?   You betcha.

Is this too many questions? Yes?   Nah, I like questions. :)

You seem at peace with your circumstances and willing to work on you.

Thank you for liking questions! I get in trouble for being too "asky."

:3 I'm not used to being called wise!

Being emo can be a blessing or a curse when it comes to finding a compatible partner. The trick is finding someone who either doesn't mind, or who WANTS to work with you through your emotional issues...

The problem is the amount of people out there to exploit you/them.

So you need to be careful.

And honest.

It's just not right to NOT tell someone up front who I'm having ideas of being in a relationship with exactly what they'd be jumping into... emotional issues, medical issues... everything. I know I wouldn't be able to be with someone as emotionally 'dramatic' (though that's the wrong word) as I am... purely because it wouldn't be a good situation or a healthy choice (for me or them. People like me tend to feed off of others, and cycles have a tendency to shift and adjust to match). Likewise I know to expect that most people are not interested in dealing with it and want a 'whole' or 'normal' person :)

So you learn to take it as it comes. If you find someone, great, if not... oh well.

Well, see you are wise. You've exposed it again. However, you know there is no such thing as a "whole or "normal" person, yes?

A lot of folks appreciate emotion. More than ever before, it seems to me.

god, this is true for me. I can remember the deceptions I've perpetrated...even stealing chalk from kindergarten. I agonized for about a week and then told my teacher. She couldn't believe I fessed up. Sheesh.

:D Yup, that's why I put them in hypothetical 's...

I understand that there's no TRULY whole people, or even normality... but people usually run away when you tell them exactly how far from the ideal you are :)

I'd rather not waste the time, though. If they're going to run away, let them do it early! I don't blame anyone for it either, but I reserve the right to feel hurt by it :P

The appreciation of emotion is, though, one thing... empathically living through extremes with your partner is another. I wouldn't wish my psyche on anyone!

That said, there are (hopefully) some that would love to cherish it. I'm looking for those people, and those people only :) I don't want having a relationship to be 'work' for my partner, or for me... it's about just being together. If they're actively working to not be affected my by 'emoness' then there's a problem! I don't want to hurt them by being who I am... which is a big reason why my previous boyfriend (my first physical relationship, and it lasted nearly three years) and I broke up. Of course, that's the ideal. There's going to always be 'work' in a relationship, since we're not ever just given someone that we will be perfect with at birth.

Relationships should always be mutually beneficial, even at their most rocky. If they're not... then there's a bit of fixing to do!

I think it all began when Miss Maryanne refused to see me in her magic mirror (or whatever it was) on Romper Room.  I'd wait and wait and....sniffle...nothing.  I cursed my parents for giving me such a different name.  So now I get off on being noticed.
