I heard once that Blue collars are training collars but I dunno where. I had a black collar when i had one (( currently in the process of acquiring my new one)) I miss it terribly. And before that my " collar" was a malachite and tiger's eye necklace. Now I just have my engagement ring.

I have a dog collar... no, srsly. I bought it at a cat store (don't even ask). It's really thin and so on me looks kinda silly, but if I feel like I need to put one on and have a slight bit of bondage it works :) I also have a 'ferret/rabbit' leash :D In addition to the blue puppy leash. The ferret one is orange and red and many other colors, and is stretchy (so it only hangs like three feet, but can stretch to, like, 6 to 8). shrug I've never heard about any color 'code' for collars either.

Thank all of you, by the way, for your replies. I didn't figure that there was one, I'd never heard of such a thing before my friend asked, and couldn't find anything about it on the great and powerful google, but, one never knows. :)

The only "specific" color I know about is the blue collar and I understood that to be a "consideration" collar. Other than that, I really agree with everyone else. It depends on what the Owner wants for Their sub/slave. I personally love purple but I have a collar for My husband that is black leather with diamond shaped purple stones on it, with a white leather one that matches for Myself. Yes, I will wear a collar as a fashion statement. I also have a red satin one and a red and black leather one for My new sub. Mistress2Mine

Girl's first collar was black leather with christmas tree studs, it was heavy and it was thick. Girl was feeling rather displaced at the time and girl's mistress at the time helped pick out in a downtown Toronto headshop. As for now, girl picked out her own, red velvet with a antique bauble hanging from it, handmade. Red velvet has always been such a sensual color and the material a certain elegance, the antique bauble, well girl believes its just reveals girl's attention to tradition. When it comes to collars, girl believes it is preference that determines color or style. Wonder what might be the analysis of an old chain mail collar, girl found the other day?

Colors do matter. They can't clash with my nail polish.
