I am sick to death with the US election. On these boards we have seen the worst sort of blind partisanship, the worst sort of black/white viewpoints...personally I am sick to death of both McCain and Obama, neither deserves to run a daycare let alone the most powerful country on earth

There's no escape, especially with the financial crisis too. I can't watch TV, read the paper, come here or do anything other than locking oneself in a dark room to escape it so its a matter of bleating ones own tune or listening to others.

There's going to be a German election soon by the look of it so that will be a relief to people over here, at least we'll have some intelligent debate over issues rather than a beauty contest.

I really dispise Obama for changing his word and stance on so many issues, that it's not funny.   This guy sways like a flimpsy tree in the wind.   He can't keep his story and his own words straight to save his life.

It's all one big show he's putting on for people.  It amazes me how real issues of character get totally ignored by people.   It's all one big popularity contest.

If you ask me Obama is another Bush.  They both run their mouth off, don't acknowledge any wrong doings on their part, they are hot heads.  Say one thing, then turn around do something different and pretend that what they said before never happened.   Plus the arrogance and ingorance factor is all there.

Bush and Obama are really the same time.  Has nothing to do with their political party or affiliation.

Obama really stuck his foot in his mouth about people in PA when him and Hillary were running against each other in this state.  Obama can take is arrogance and ingorance some place else.   That man won't get my vote.   McCain on the other hand is the lesser of two evils.   At least with McCain he's not afraid to express something that might not be popular, and he's a little more grounded in terms communication skills.

HAR!!!!  I can't even keep up with it... And so correct in the ''day care'' analysis.

That's an understatement, meat. I just got back from a bailout themed barbeque.... Before and after we ate, seven of us took turns with three different blocked cell-phones, calling from a list of a hundred-or-so random congressmen/women, impersonating their constituents, demanding they vote no on Friday. It was funny as all hell.....

And starting a new thread to invite more of the same is gonna fix that?

Arpig..has a right to start a new thread if he likes.  these threads do not fix anything.  it is proof that most of the members that write in these forums are liberal.   what everyone fails to realize is that a conservative view is not always a republican one.

Yup Mm, it seems to have backfired.

I have stated that IMO Obama is the lesser of two evils, I need not elaborate on it again.

Suffice it to say that it will be over soon. Once November rolls around people will only bitch about one candidate instead of two. Hopefully those on the losing side will have the ability to sit silently smug as the winner runs the country into the ground.

I wonder what we would find should we go back four years on this forum. I'd bet it was about the same.

Well, this election cycle has run almost a full 21 months... It'll be almost two years by the time the new President takes office... (Or if you prefer, about 4 months LONGER that Palin has been a Governor.) So you can hardly be blamed if you're getting fatiuge. Yeah, there are times I just feel like it's become a huge grind. Not even top reality shows run this long. But, if you can ignore a great deal of it until the conventions, it's actually pretty enjoyable. I've never experienced quite this level of comedy... or of history in the making before.

Do what I'm going to do: Go vote early. That way, you can just relax and watch the parade, and not worry about the outcome. Your part will be done.

I too am sick of the election.  In that regard the bail out- at least gets the mind off of the endless contest.

A supervisor of the phone bank called me last night. She wants me to work. I said I would love to..tho to check and make sure.....  (recall the incident last April)
But now as I think on it- I am so sick of the election, I would be slacking there. It seems NO ONE wants to work the phone bank- (in that circle)

I made a bet with a friend about 18 months ago that we would not have a new Prez come next January, at odds of 100 to 1. I figured I could risk a buck (a worthless Federal Reserve Note) on that one. Certainly all the executive orders are in place to suspend elections and consolidate power, some from previous admins and some from this one.

Regretably, I haven't yet given up on the possibility of winning.

Hear, hear.

But think these boards are bad?  Try listening to the news.

Either
Communist
Network
News,

or

Federation
Of
Xenophobes

You'll get strictly one side or the other.

Purely sickening.

Come election day - the biggest tragedy for me will be my mixed emotions - thrilled that Obama has lost, and sad that McCain has won .... or vice-versa.
