please can anyone direct me to a fireplay website.

In particular, i want to play with flash cotton, and the sites that sell the stuff give little info relevant to a bdsm experience.

And them swirling flame things you see at festivals. For those of you who can do this. If i can swing glow balls on string in time to music ok, will i be able to translate this to the fire things on string? yeah i cant remember what they are called.

I need all the info and equipment for a quiet night in on NYE.

thankyou in advance, and hopefully, collarme wont think this is illegal too and delete my post. If it is, i apologise.

I love fire play but I highly recommend you seek out people who have experience to learn from. Either take a seminar or ask some people in the local community who have done it to show you how. There are a lot of different kinds of fire play and I think you're unlikely to find a whole lot of info online simply because it is, IMO, one of those things that should be learned from others with experience.

In this regard you want to look into Fire Danceing on your internet search. Lessons are given in most major cities and also taught at some belly dancing courses.

If you want to do fire walking, do it over burnt wood ashes. Wood is a poor heat conductor and will not leave marks or welps on your feet as you walk across it. If you want to play with a tourch or lighter, just be sure to move the flame constantly at a steady pace. Your flesh will not have time to conduct the heat so you will not burn.

As for the cotton ball technique, If I'm thinking what you are thinking, you soak the cotton ball in alcohol and then dab it onto yourself or another person. Before it evaporates you light it followed by a quick wack of a paddle or leather whiping device to extinguish the flame under a second.

What's also fun in starting off with is the use of sparkelers. You light one up and then go down the front and back side of a person keeping the sparkeler less than a few inches from the persons skin at a steady pace.

Fire is an odd device of nature indeed. You can cause a full burning forest fire with just a spark yet it takes lighter fluid and whole box of matches to start a simple camp fire.

I totally agree with her sentiment. Fire play is setting yourself on fire period. You want to know what you are doing. You have no way to validate a website or anyone here.
People have stupid idea's and if you listen to all of them you are going to end up hurt.

Find a good demo somewhere..where you can watch and ask questions.

The web is full of lies and misinformation. Search out a local troupe or a professional and contact them directly. It will be a world apart from anything you could get from purely reading, even if information was valid.

In the end, it is your life and the life of those you play with that is in the balance so if that isn't worth the extra time and energy to put some real life leg work into it, then you're better off not bothering with the more extreme arts at all.

This is one of the few topics which will make me put on my safety police hat. FIre play isn't overly complex or difficult, IMO, but does require some precautions (sometimes things you might not think of) and practicing while an experienced fire player watches you is also helpful.

We teach, perform and play with fire. Most of what we will say in written format is on the link LuckyAlbatross provided.

Thankyou all so much, ive read everything here, some of it seems ok to practice, then i make contact with a real fire player, who gave me, the thumbs up and down for each practice i was interested in.

I must say, finding someone who does this on a regular basis, discussing how to minimise a risk, as it really never goes with fireplay has been most beneficial.
There really is little time before NYE and now, certainly not enough for me to learn to play in the way i wanted to. But i do have a few things permitable that i can use.

And i shall go watch some demo's, unfortunately, this wont be in time for me to learn enough to practice the 'big girl' stuff. But safety is paramount.

thankyou all

Safety is paramount in fire play. I have friends who have done it for many years. They all do it different. Some are entertaining and it is like a stage play. But it's not a simple or safe thing to learn in one day. You won't be ready for NYE. But with time and careful work, you too can be good at it.

Talk to people, go to demos, watch carefully anytime anyone is doing it. Ask questions...ask to have them help you do it...take you through the steps..The only way to learn this in the way you want is to get in there with a knowledgeable person. In this case, patience is a virtue..

Respectfully,
sultry

I don't think they'd be ready to go SOLO with heavy fire flogging...but they could certainly be able to do a fire cupping or basic alcohol flame drawing in a group setting with spotters and such. IF they met up with people who were experienced and give them a few lessons real life in the next few weeks.

The best thing to do with the flash cotton is just set it on the cement in the garage and practice with it. It should be available in any magic shop. You might talk to the owner there. It's really quite kewl schtuff and pretty safe. You could practice making little designs with it. Course that's probably not exciting enuf for the big risk taker.. For them I'd say try flooding the garage with gas.. That should make it exciting enough for you..

Something nobody has touched on but should be mentioned. Your body's natural oils are what is preventing you from being burned. It's wise not to have had a bath and then try it. Anything like nipple rings and that sort of thing should be avoided. Smooth surfaces are best. And remember that you do it to skin that is facing up to the sky so that the flames go up.. Just simple basic things..

i totally agree with most everyO/one here.  Don't read about fireplay...do it.  Attend a seminar.  Find someone who knows how and will teach you firsthand.

i would say the same of needle play/knife play as well.
