So how many of you saw it? We've been familiar with them for years now. Thought it was toned down a little for mainstream America, but still funny.
What did you think?

I saw it last night, and yes, I did think it was toned down a lot, to the point it was tame compared to normal, what is it, were the producers scared of upsetting you lot , are you as a nation that sensitive?

When I heard that Little Britain was going to be in the USA last night, I admit, I thought to myself, uh oh, careful.

Mind, some of their sketches when it is the normal Little Britain, are very close to the edge, they present their view and sometimes it is shocking, but if you look at it, sometimes they are right, it is just they have highlighted an issue and made a joke out of it. They ridicule British life, so we can laugh at ourselves.

I saw David Walliams on tv a couple of days ago promoting the show and he said there was some 'overview' from the American producers. But after getting the speed Walliams & Lucas became self censoring and many of the jokes had 'implied' sexual weirdness and psychosis. No racist vomiting or gerontophilia.

I have never been LB's biggest fan. Once a week was ok, there would be 3 or 4 big laughs, quite a few uncomfortable moments, plus the misfiring jokes. When I got the boxed sets for my then g/f, I found the show became very repetitve watching several episodes back to back.
There were some good moments in the LBUS show, I liked the guy demonstrating guns who became aroused. Weird, funny, brief and thought provoking ie should people feel this way about guns. Anywho, there is no place for thought provoking comedy as can be seen in the Chris Rock thread.

You might prefer it to the original. The spirit is still there. Casual racism, weirdness, hedonism, nihilism and general nastiness. The Rosie O'Donnell sketch was interesting, one suspects that other star guests might be brought on if they have the chance to relaunch a career or change their perceived public profile to include 'being cool' or having the ability to laugh at themselves.
I wonder how some people will take 'Lou & Andy' where one person in a wheelchair is fake, nasty and exploiting his caregiver. There were definitely some laughs, I will be checking out the next episode.
God forbid 'The League Of Gentlemen' ever becoming sanitised.

For anyone wanting to see it pop over to bbc.co.uk/iplayer where you can watch all bbc shows. I assume it is available in foreign parts too....
