The newbie nerves...have gotten the best of me before and I'm really trying not to run away from what I want so badly. Meeting people on the net, scary as hell but there aren't many options in the suburbs!

Go down to the bottom of the page, to the "Polls and Random Stupidity" section, and look for a thread (usually on the first page) titled "The Fabulous Michigan Clique" (or something like that).  Don't let the title fool you, it's a great bunch of people.

Oh heck, ya live right in driving distance of a LOT of different get togethers. There are lots of friendly folks in Michigan who regularly get back and forth across the state. It doesn't take long before you meet friends and get to be a "regular". I will send you some links to some of the area lists.
