I recently met a submissive. In the process of discussing likes, preferences, limits, etc., she mentioned that she had breast implants.

Not being a dummy, I asked her how having the implants would limit breast play. She had no idea. Obviously, if we reach the point of playing, what we do in terms of breast play could be directly affected by the implants. I suggested that she contact her doctor and ask him. She seems reluctant to do so. I tried to reassure her that any conversation she has with he Doctor will be confiential. So far, no appointment.

Does anyone have any idea what to expect and any suggestions for dealing with this implant issue. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Funnily enough I was reading something the other day on this subject, but all it really mentioned was to be careful when doing any kind of whipping as this could make the implants burst... *shudder*.

I think i came across it in SM101 and not on the net...

any reluctance Thors on her part I would read as a hard limit.
If she is reluctant to protect her investment and health I think
she has issues with her practice with in the lifestyle and doesent
want to for what ever reason let her Dr. know she does such.
Tell her that she can contact the Local Health Dept by phone and
gain sum detailed information on this while being anominous. JMO
It would depend on where her implants where inserted and the
tissue was cut and what kind of implants she has as well. Id really
call this a hard limit for now till she is more open about them.

Good catch on the question- My first set of implants had been whipped a bit before I thought to wonder.

IMX, IMO-

Flogging should be fine, provided that you are going more for a string than thud. The amount of force that a flogger can apply is a lot less than most in the scene seem to think. Try flogging an egg sometime, or a ziplock half full of water, and see if you can burst it.

Geez, Y'all must have known that I was just back from LA!!

As a woman with implants (that I LOVE) I have a few thoughts on the subject. There are definitely some questions that you should ask. I'm not sure of the dynamic of y'alls play, nor do I have the specific information about her particular type of implants or placement.
If her implants are new, sensation can lead from highly sensitive (for the first few weeks for me) to totally numb, but painful with even mildly hard play. (These are my personal experiences and those of the gals I personally knew through their boob-job experience.)
I would have to say-
Learn as much as you can about her implants. Get in there and scope it out. (NOT LITERALLY! [:D]) Are her implants firm? Does she have a drop or any extra skin? How sensitive are her nipples and does she have any numb spots? (these can be painful when played with even mildly for me. It's not an erotic pain for me) Communicate and learn as much as you can about both the type of implants she has and bdsm and implants and use common sense from there on out.
I know that SM101 covers this situation, as I think someone posted earlier. Breast implants are very strong, but why waste perfectly good plastic surgury? *eg*
