I have "inherited" a beautiful full length custom latex gown.
Unfortunately, it's too large in the bust.(thankfully it's not strapless)

I know you can repair tears on Latex, but is it possible to have my gown
altered to a smaller size?

Thanks for your help,

Latex neophyte

I think the easiest way to do it is to find an expert in making latex clothing and give them the exact measurements you need.  From what I've heard through the years, it takes a lot of skill, patience, and special glue to make latex clothing.  Maybe try the Baroness in NYC since you are in New York and see what she says/recommends.

I hope this helps.

I agree with two of your three statements here, but after hanging out and talking trade with the founder of The Moral Minority, Inc. and several of their designers, I can say that the main "special glue" is latex rubber cement.

It's still a damned tricky medium to work with, however.

yes Colin but as someone who purchased rubber from Expectations for leatherpost.com I can also say part of the reason the best rubber stuff comes from Europe is that the "special" latex rubber cement that works best is illegal in the good ol' US of A.

If you need to wear it out in the meantime- you do what the larger fashion world does. Pull the excess tight in the back and use clothes pins/ bulldog clips/ clamps of your choice down the back to make it fit. On magazine shoots these aren't seen but on a latex gown it's called accessorizing. I'd think large faced clamps like the Bulldogs would be best for latex and make a nice look all in a row. Shiny chrome!

Just in case you wanted to wear it Halloween Night somewhere...
