MzMia -> Sending prayers to Grandmother Madelyn! Thank you! (10/21/2008 5:14:18 AM)

Most of us know that Senator Obama is taking a few
days off to visit his gravely ill "Grandmommy Madelyn".

My thoughts prayers, and blessings go with Barack.
We realize that your Grandmommy has had a major impact
on creating the man that we see today.
You should be the proudest woman on earth.
I sing your praises!

I hope and pray that you get much better, January is a big month for your grandson.

Aloha, Madelyn, thank you for your grandson!

Obama's grandma on TV (Madelyn Dunham)

I hope that she lives to see her grandson become president.

I hope that the republicans do not stoop to making an issue of his taking time off to visit her. That would be beyond low.

I agree with the above

She`s been quite ill and going downhill for a while now.

A couple months ago,Mr Obama took a week off to visit and be with her,b/c of this.

The cons spinned it into the guy can`t handle the road,takes break at wrong time,he`s whimping out,etc.Trying to get a dig in.

Mr. Obama has kept her situation private and is handling it as he should.

~~~~~~~~~~
I wish her comfort and peace.
Hopes and prayers extended...along with my gratitude for the young man she raised...who will take the oath of office Jan.20...
She was too ill to go to Denver to see him accept the nomination. I hope she recovers and gets to see her grandson take the oath of office on January 20th.
I wish her the best, and hope that she recovers.
On a more cynical note, I think the republicans are already working on "phase 2"... getting ready to spin this into a negative...
(cue somber music)
"Obama: he suspended his campaign to visit relatives... is THAT the kind of leader America needs now? Can he be trusted if he can't be bothered with his own campaign? .... I'm John McCain, and I approved this sleazy message."
Irishknight -> RE: Sending prayers to Grandmother Madelyn! Thank you! (10/21/2008 1:21:55 PM)
They may very well try to spin it into his being a hypocrite.  "Remember what he said when McCain wanted to suspend his campaign to work on the bailout?"
I also wish her the best.  However the election turns out, I hope she can see the classy way in which her grandson handled the campaign.  She should be proud.
Um, while Palin is taking time off from her campaign to be deposed regarding whether she broke the law?  I don't think they'd dare invite the comparison.
What a wonder thread to start, MzMia!
Grandma - get well soon and thank you for working so hard that you were able to help give your grandson an opportunity to excel.
We know that you have passed on to the other
side, Grandmother Madelyn.
Thank you again, for raising such a wonderful young man.
R.I.P. Madelyn.
