Not only would I not be insulted at an inquiry regarding my experience level,  I would be expecting it.  If I didnt hear one, my radar would go off. It would mean somebody either didnt think it important enough to inquire about or didnt know to ask. Either one is an automatic flag on the play. I wish there were credentials - I would love to have to explain *that* sheepskin to inquiring minds LOL!

This Domme started out a sub many years ago. I absorbed demonstrations, conversations and first aid courses. Read every piece of information I could get my hands on - starting with 'Different Loving' by Gloria Brame.  The local BDSM community was adamant that all interested submissives were provided opportunity to witness and participate in the responsible execution of a whole scope of 'play'. I spent countless hours in the company of a domme I met through the local 'social club'. Ms. Alicia was incredibly generous with education and experience. Two immutable rules in her playroom: 'Play safely and ALWAYS be dialed in to what your submissive is experiencing'. She was determined that I be a very well-equipped submissive and I certainly wasnt going to argue.

I did more than my fair share of questioning the abilities, scope of experience, etc of potential doms. Over time, I became tired of being called 'uppity'. When I groused about that to Ms. Alicia, she smiled at me and said  'I do believe you are ready to assume a different role'.

Not a day passes that I don't grit my teeth over these noisy overstuffed harridans whose only foundation is that of their overtasked pleather corset. They pick up a crop, pronounce themselves a Domme and salivate at the possibilties for grinding whatever ax they have at the moment. They are no more valid than their motivation.

As in all other 'leanings' in our beautifully deviant community, a Domme happens from the inside out - not from the toybox up.

I had an ex lover that worked as a Domme and that is how I became one. I didn't have formal training from her but I did have someone to relate to that had experience so in a sense she was my mentor.

There are classes held twice a year at the Citadel in San Francisco on Domme training. I don't think it's something that everyone would need to take but for someone that was curious and would like a bit more education on form and safety (really who wouldn't) I think they are a great thing!
