sasshay -> B-12 and nipple nerve damage (11/2/2008 4:38:45 AM)

I recently was treated for a foot that I broke last year. I didn't have it looked at and now it burns. My doctor put me on B-12 injections, the foot doesn't burn anymore and now the nerves that were damaged in my nipples during rough play are returning to normal.

Neuropathy normally starts when your nerves are deprived of oxygen (anoxia). But, here are many reasons why this might happen:
  • Too much sugar or insulin in your blood (diabetes)
  • The use of medications - for a list of medications - go the Side-Effects Neuropathy
  • Nutritional deficiencies,
  • Exposure to toxic substances (ingested in food or water or pollution)
  • Radiation therapy for cancer,
  • Chemo therapy for cancer
  • Laying in one position too long (nerve compression, entrapment or laceration)
  • Physical injuries (trauma) to the nerve
  • Prolonged compression as in the wearing of inappropriate footwear,
  • Infections that can all block oxygen getting to your nerve cells.

It seems that B-12 deficiency can be blamed for a lot of misdiagnosed diseases, as well.

I hope this helps someone. Please don't reply to me as I won't be checking. But, if you have anymore helpful info, feel free to post.
Thanks,
shay
