sasshay -> B-12 and nipple nerve damage (11/2/2008 4:38:45 AM)

I recently was treated for a foot that I broke last year. I didn't have it looked at and now it burns. My doctor put me on B-12 injections, the foot doesn't burn anymore and now the nerves that were damaged in my nipples during rough play are returning to normal. http://www.mcvitamins.com/neuropathy.htm Neuropathy normally starts when your nerves are deprived of oxygen (anoxia). But, here are many reasons why this might happen: - Too much sugar or insulin in your blood (diabetes)
- The use of medications - for a list of medications - go the Side-Effects Neuropathy
- Nutritional deficiencies,
- Exposure to toxic substances (ingested in food or water or pollution)
- Radiation therapy for cancer,
- Chemo therapy for cancer
- Laying in one position too long (nerve compression, entrapment or laceration)
- Physical injuries (trauma) to the nerve
- Prolonged compression as in the wearing of inappropriate footwear,
- Infections that can all block oxygen getting to your nerve cells.
It seems that B-12 deficiency can be blamed for a lot of misdiagnosed diseases, as well. http://www.yourhealthbase.com/vitamin_B12.html I hope this helps someone. Please don't reply to me as I won't be checking. But, if you have anymore helpful info, feel free to post. Thanks, shay
